Default Any Support for a 1/200 Wardair Canada DC-6?

Wardair Canada became famous for their Charter Service using their jets (B727, B707, B747, DC-10, A300, and A310).

However, it all started with the DC-6 in 1962. Two DC-6s were used - CF-CZZ and CF-PCI with charters to the U.K. and Europe from Canada. In his autobiography Max Ward talked about putting CF-CZZ into service. "our first overseas charter came...on June 22,1962 when we took a group from Edmonton to Copenhagen with stops at Frobisher Bay and Prestwick, Scotland along the way. During that sumer we completed eight overseas charters, and lost money on every one of them".

Originally the leased DC-6s had rather generic markings. DC-6B CF-PCI was originally KLM PH-TFM in 1952, it joined Wardair in March 1963 and later served with Pacific Western Airlines (Canada). The photo below shows PCI as she began wearing the Wardair Logo with Wardair Wings and a Canadian Flag (post 1965) on the tail. Aircraft was white with a dark blue cheatline with red trim underneath.

Anyway, what do you think? If you already collect Wardair - would you add a DC-6B to your collection?

Dan

I would support a Wardair 6, I'll take Wardair anything. The jet's are being covered. I like the Gatwick shot at the top.

Thanks for the history lesson Dan. Would I support it? Yeah maybe! Being a proud Canadian, and Wardair fan,I would be all over this one. If it ever did happen,we would need you to ensure they don't mess it up.

Sounds interesting, count me in and UAT please. PLEASE NOTE HOW SMALL, DELICATE & RELATIVELY INSIGNIFICANT THE HORSE SHOE ROOF ANTENNA IS. Not made out of 200 scale scaffolding pipe please.

Super shots especially from the roof gardens with BEA base in distance AND the Gatwick ramp scene with GSE....Wonderful.

Dan:

I would definitely buy a Wardair DC-6 to add to my collection of tier 2 Canadian carriers, including Eastern Provincial, Quebecair, North West Territorial and Royal Airlines.

Plus it would look great next to Hobby Master's HL5005, Empress of Toronto.

I would be interested in one as well. I'd put it in formation with my Wardair 707 and 727.

I had a conversation with William of Hobby Master and a Wardair DC-6 is something he will consider as a possible future release.
