Default AV200 UA 747-post merger

Today I received my AV200 UA 747-400 in the post merger paint scheme. The model looks very nice, except the wings/stabilizers! The whole wing and stabilizer is painted in grey, and there is nothing outlining the different sections. It is only a big grey area!

Is that how the model is supposed to look like? Are all the 1:1 UA 744s painted that way?

Do I first have to upload them to a photo host website?

Yep. Try uploading to your facebook first (most host sites have limited photo storage).

No coroguard on the wing? You would be surprised how many models are released like this.

Is that a mistake or are all the models the same?

The majority of United's 747 wings are painted like what you see. No different than Lufthansa's which are painted white.

I'm wondering how this model will differ compared to the Inflight 200 IF744912 N180UA? It may be too early, but does anyone know the difference aside from registration number or the price?

So far it looks close to the Inflight 200:

The UAL has always been a plain gray:

It's amazing how much one can learn from these two websites.

They could have outlined flaps, lines etc a little better on the model. I agree, it looks a bit bland.

I'm guessing the factory had to run a certain number so inflight200 took half and av200 took the others with a quick registration number change.

I've got the IF version and that surprised me on taking it out of the box as well. Beautiful model but wings look bland.
