Default Gemini's rereleases, what is next?

We have had a few rereleases by gemini this year, which I think is good as it allows other to get the rare models at a reasonable price.

What other models do you guys predict gemini will rerelease during the coming months? There are quite a few models I want to buy, such as the AA 752/MD80, DL MD88 but I am holding off never knowing when or if gemini will release these again.

Yeah, we all want the KLM MD11 and other new releases, but please do not make this into such a wish thread.

How about new rereleases?

But those are wishes for yet to be released models, not rereleases.

With the high prices being asked for the Pan Am L-1011, I would suggest that GJ should consider that one for a future re-release.

I would like to see them do a 747-100 in the classic Pan Am of the mid-late 1970s livery. I would buy that in a second.

I have the hunch we will see another batch of AA B727-200 pretty soon. As they were re-doing some other AA models like the B737 or B777.

But I still waiting for AeroMexico 777 polish livery, not the actual. But who knows?

I'd like anyone to do a correct PA 747-121 in the delivery scheme with the Clipper name in the correct fonts and size.

With many of the most-desired re-releases, they were such long-lived, common planes that they could do livery variations:

AA MD-80? Do a black-nose-dot version with "Super 80" titles. (which is arguably more iconic/long-lived than the version they did)

DL 752? 80's vs 90's style of widget markings. (interestingly, GJ has already done this---the 1/400 and 1/200 releases are the two different variations---they've already done the artwork for both--just upscale the 1/400 artwork to 1/200, and it's ready to go as a "new variation" for a 1/200 release)

That would both preserve the "rarity" of the original releases, and yet allow fleet builders to have multiples without being identical, and allow those who missed the first ones to still get basically the same thing.

I agree. However, I'm so fond of my IF200 "Clipper Young America" that I've decided to overlook that one major flaw.

C'mon Gemini, let's have a PA 747-121, please!!!

For the original retail price of $200, it was something I simply could not overlook -- and it was just such a ridiculously careless mistake.

I think this is an excellent idea, and the best possible solution to the re-release topic. Personally, I'd like to see them redo some of them without winglets, AA 757 especially.

I agree on both of these! I received the L-1011 when it was available originally, but it had a bad paint smudge/distortion and the engine 2 intake was damaged. By the time I got it back to them, the rest were sold out

Pan Am redo's should be easy to do slightly differently too with all the different clipper names.

I would also like to see Gemini do an Eastern L1011-1 in the delivery scheme, with the small black rain erosion boot, original hot exhausts sections with reversers, white rudder and a correct WHITE horizontal stabilizer.

There were a surprising number of Pan Am L-1011s for sale on eBay recently, with prices ranging from the reasonable to the ridiculous.

Just checked, there are currently 5 for sale, from $175 to $599.99 plus shipping.

That $175 is quite fair, IMO, you should get that one. Its a terrific model, and well worth that price, or a little more.

Good point!!!

I am wondering if we will see those "Next Gemini Releases Guessing Threads" in the well-known Rod-style again. Now that Rod is leaving Gemini, the successor will probably 'different' in certain ways. Maybe, Rod can transfer his 'keep-in-touch-with-collectors-worldwide' heritage...

All in all, I am absolutely with you and many others. I am hoping for a Gemini 1/200 McDonnell Douglas MD-11 as well as a Boeing 717. as the next new moulds. KLM for the MD-11 and Hawaiian Airlines for the 717 would be my primary choices.

Another big deal for Gemini would be an Eastern L-1011 in the polished metal scheme (Inflight needs to modify the mould before, so that "polished metal" becomes technically possible on the L-1011 mould) with the smaller cheatline (below the cabin windows) to go with Gemini's almost perfect 727 and 757 releases. Would make up a gorgeous group.

Oh--and Deltaflot 752! They modeled THE ONE AND ONLY WINGLETTED ONE. Yeesh, a one-off of such a common plane? (and from the response to my email, they seemed unaware that they'd done a one-off until I pointed it out---really, how could they not notice that 99.9% of photos of Deltaflot 757's show no winglets?)

Not real suprised though, GJ seems to love to put winglets and hushkits on things whenever possible, no matter how rare/short-lived they were.

I wonder if that's how they released the museum version of the Spirit of Delta instead of how it looked when it was delivered then, too. Just by accident looked up the wrong picture? Amazing.

They could go crazy re releasing models with no winglets that they already did with winglets.

Oh, and what about all of the collectors out there who would like another American Eagle ERJ-145 (ahem, umbent), too!

How about releasing some new 1/200 American MD-80s? And this time, do them with a finish that doesn't start oxidizing/corroding 5 minutes after you open the box.

I definitely agree with with a Gemini Jets MD11 release, perhaps FedEx?

Here's hoping for the first GJ 200 release of a new aircraft type, the Boeing 712 (DC-9-95).

Heck how about one in the TWA/AA hybrid livery?

As far as the 712 goes, they have the moulds I would believe. All they need is a -30 series airframe and wing, and the correct 'Dog House' from a MD-87 which they've already produced once before (Reno Air MD-87 ) as well. They only new tooling reqd. would be for the larger BR715 RR engine nacelles.

When they do make one, and I feel they will eventually, I just hope they pick a registry that had the cockpit eyebrow windows and put them on (discontinued on Fus 5110 and subs as part of a weight and cost savings).

Oh the possibilities they could release. Especially with all of the sports teams that FL had like the Colts, Falcons, Brewers to name a few. WN dumped all 78 of the former FL 717-2BD's on the market for obvious reasons when their merger was approved this year, however, all of those birds have gone to new operators around the world.

Long live the heritage of the Douglas DC-9 Twin Jet.
