Default Antonov 225

Hey guys today I received my 1/200 Antonov 225.It's a really cool model and I have been searching for it and thanks to crownvic in pointing me where to get it.I had to take indoor shots due to it's raining here so they are not that good but you can get an idea.I have just one question....shouldn't the Antonov have a wider wingspan than the A380? I ask this cause my 1/200 A380 has a wider wingspan by 1/4 inch....Anyway here are some pics...enjoy

Here it is next to a 1/200 A380

Good stuff! When I can afford it I'll get the one with the Shuttle on it.. The main problem will be.. Where the hell do I keep it!? Haha..

I used to have this model a few years ago when it was released. iirc nose was too big. they did a second cccp release in red which was better. then they did one with the shuttle. I did get that one, but had to sell it sadly. can't find pics atm.

According to a quick internet search, the Antonov has a wingspan of 290 ft, while the A380's wingspan is 261 ft. So, it sounds like your Antonov model is a little shy on wingspan.

Still an interesting model, though.

Can you take a photo where the model is next to a coffee mug to get a sense of scale?

Well, Jetdin, I'ts not an Antonov design bureau model, although it's detailing is amazing. These were sold by Aviation Retail Direct. The undercarriage is white metal. I believe they retail at about £290, although that may have increased by now, thats if you can find one. I've no idea how common they are, I've only seen one or two.

I think so, but as I said earlier, the quality and detailing is very good, even down to the flight deck windshield washer blades.

The size comparison with the A380 looks about right, but being partially sighted, I'm probably not the best judge!

Yes i think herpa got the size pretty spot on.
Its just my phone that might have distorted it here and there.hehe.
The a380s fuselage height is actually a bit higher than the an225's.
