Default My wall of diecast 747's, and others!

Hi All:
I've been working on my collection of only diecast 1:200's for about a year and a half. I'm well over 200 at this stage, and still working. In fact, I have bought from many participants on this forum. My angle is that I only have aircraft that I have actually flown on (by registration and livery). I only collect metal models (you may spot the one exception to this, a Herpa Premium). I've had many customs made, with only a handful of exceptions all done by Martin Beacom, who is a true artist. Beyond customs, I have probably had to have the registrations on about a third of these models customized by Martin to reflect ships I have actually flown on. Happily, having flown a lot of planes over the years, I have been able to directly buy a lot with the correct registrations (I only buy one of a type/registration even if I may have flown multiple examples of a particular airline's aircraft in a specific livery - say, the Delta 72S). I find that this ability to buy without customization is happening at an accelerating rate with the proliferation of models being made these days. I still have a lot in the production pipeline with Martin, others on pre-order, and look forward to continuing to build the collection...there are still so many I "need"!
I am not too conversant with posting messages, or links, and so apologize that the address below will need to be copied and pasted. I would appreciate it if someone would tell me how to make this a link (and/or change it for me).
Finally, my apologies for the lack of photographic quality, and the "unfortunate" wallpaper I have in my office.
All the best.

Dead easy to do mate, hover your mouse over the image in the album and there's an "img" code bottom of the list. Left click it, it says copied and paste it on here:

Easy

A very nice collection you have there too!

That's a very impressive collection, and I like the custom, built in cabinet, too.

Love that SAS 747, any idea what year it was released? Was it a custom? If you ever get the urge to unload it, shoot me a PM!

I quite fancy the Air NZ one myself too, and the United ones are pretty choice. Amazing fleet mate

there are some fantastic models in that collection. Love the AirNZ 744 and UA 742.
Again I also ask - are these your custom works or did someone do them for you as they are fantastic.
Thanks for sharing...

Thanks everyone for the comments.
The UA 742, SK 742, and NZ 744 all were made by Martin Beacom using an InFlight200 donor.

Congratulations on your fleet and the super clean install of the shelves. Wish I had the architecture and space to pull that off!

D1A1C1, nice collection and beautifully displayed.

Craig, that Airlanka 1/200 707 is the first I have ever seen with the cabin doors at the creased floor line and the cargo doors below it. What is the model mfr?

I like how your custom jobs have PAX windows with some of the shades partially drawn differently throughout the aircraft. I wish the companies can't start doing this!

Hi, again, everyone, and thank you for the further kind comments.
The Air Mauritius 74L was done by Martin Beacom. From memory, a Qantas SP was used as the donor, with an engine change.
The AirLanka 707 was also done by Martin.
Sounding like a bit of a worn out record, Martin is also behind the artwork. He collaborates with a talented aircraft artist, Nick Webb, to get these customs made. They add some nice touches like some of the window shades being closed, or partially closed.
Cheers. D1A1C1
