Default Waffle Collectibles and coupon usage.

Reading the Waffle Collectibles FAQ it seems that one is not allowed to use a coupon unless given personally through the owner(s). However, I have got a code through a friend that gives me a 10% discount. Now, I want to avoid any problems, so am I allowed to use the code or not?

As I am thinking of buying 4 models, worth close to $350 the code would help me save a few bucks.

Send an e-mail to Michael asking if you can use the coupon before making a purchase.

I've bought hundreds of dollars worth of models from him, so I guess you could call me LOYAL.

One time, I accidentallty used the coupon code for the preorders on a non-preorder item, and he only gave me an email, NOT RUDE. No fee BS, either.

but don't use one of the special short-term coupon codes for orders that include pre-orders. that's almost always on the no-no list.

Just contact Nick at Jetway models, he will probably price match if you ask him. Don't understand why anyone would wanna deal with this lunatic when there are other amazing sellers out there who will price match.

Probably because he's not a lunatic and he has far and away the best range and prices around by a country mile. Plus he's honest and reliable and if you live overseas his postage is decent too.

I will agree to that 100%.

He is just a bit touchy when STUPID rears its head. And from some posts by people in other threads, I can see why. One can only take so much bull in a day.

Michael is great to deal with if you are open and honest and can read and follow clear instructions.

E-mail him for a personal code which will give you 10% discount on ALL orders, even if they include future releases etc.

Michael at Waffle is a serious a$$hole with a God Complex... he's delusional and irrational, and probably dangerous. Please never give him your money.
Go to Jetway Models instead.

Thank you for the information. I never realized that. All my dealings with him was great and the e-mails I send him was answered in a way which never appeared delusional or irrational. I'll lock my doors from now on.

By the way, he goes the extra mile to sell to some countries that Jetway does not :
(and for the record I have received packages from all over the world without a lost one yet).

From the Jetway web page:
We regret that we cannot ship to the following destinations due to export paperwork requirements or high loss rate of shipments:
Czech Republic
Dubai
Germany
Latvia
Lebanon
Pakistan
Russia
Serbia
Slovakia
South Africa
Ukraine

All you have to do is sign up with the DiMA forum(Home - Diecast Model Aircraft) and email him for your code.

I've had nothing but good experience with Waffle.

Germany is this well known black hole in the middle of Europe, where customs officers steal the packages in order to avoid the daily fight against starvation and poverty.

Nick at Jetway is awesome! Agree with this!

I've ordered from Waffle too, never used a coupon but have used the free shipping over $100 offer. Not had any issues.

My experiences buying from the Waffle have been great! The collection sales are awesome! Some lucky buyer scored a GJ 200 American 757 veterans ribbon for only 50 or 60 dollars!

I like both guys. I usually order from Nick because he is the guy I started out with and am loyal to, but Waffle has a great selection of rare models in his collection sales.

When did Waffle offer free shipping?

I asked earlier does Jetway offer a 10% discount to match Waffle's 10%?

Seems like it was earlier this year, if you order over $100 you can get free shipping. Code is: freeship

Not sure on the Jetway match, you should ask Nick. I know on the last Gemini released Nick offered to match any lowest price, you had to email the prices to him.

I am under the impression that Free Shipping (in almost all cases) only apply to certain orders in the USA and not to international shipments? [Otherwise I will be kicking myself big time].

Free shipping is only on US domestic addresses, not international.

Waffle is a hot head when stupid shows itself & the customer doesn't seem to try to find info beforehand.

Nick @ jetway is just plain emotionally unstable.

Yeah. I feel it in my pocket. Almost on each order I place at any company I see the cost of one model disappear into shipping and then VAT is also charged at customs when it reaches here. My wishlist would have been much much smaller if not for those costs.

Totally agree. Best in the buisness, Price matches so price isnt a issue, good shipping rates & can still find time to offer customer service.

A warning about Waffles "Sale" items. On his "FAQ's" it states there are no returns on (sale) items, even if they are manufacturer defects. I have bought over $1000 of merchandise from Michael with no problems, That said, I did receive a " SALE" BBX National 747-100 that arrived looking like it had been sitting in the bottom of the Atlantic for 10 years. Bubbled paint and cracks on wings and exceptionally bad surface "tarnish". I sent an email with pics with no response. I am assuming this is due to the policy of no returns on sale items. I must say that this incident has caused me to question weather I will ever buy a sale item from him again. I just want to warn everybody on the policy on "SALE" items-no guarantee it will be in good shape and no returns!! Not here to bash anyone, I think the more retailers the merrier, but just wanted to point out that particular line in the "fine print."

Just received an email from Michael. The email I sent him had a misspelled address on it. After sending it to the proper email he issued a full refund for the model. I would say after this recent turn of events that Michael is certainly willing to work on defective models, even ones from the "sale" categories, and I can proclaim that I am back to not having a single unresolved issue with Waffle!

I dealt with Nick at Jetway for many years with no complaints, that is until he price gouged me on an AC Brittania and on this forum Waffle was the one who informed me of this and suggested I find another retailer. Then Waffle found out it was Nick I was dealing with and the sheet hit the fan, Waffle went off the wall on me (he is unsatble like that). As for Nick I never gave him another dime and he should only know how many thousands of dollars I spent over at Kam's EZtoys that he would never pocket from me.

Good businessmen, both of them.

Geezus Steve, are you still grinding an axe over an issue of mispricing from years ago? All you had to do was bring it up to me like a mature adult, but you didn't. Seriously, you are the ONLY collector in 20 years of me selling models to act like a little b-i-tch over the PRICING of one model. In the meantime, my business has never been more successful with over 1,000 MATURE collectors in over 30 countries, none of which run away like little girls if one itty-bitty thing hurts their feelings. So much for your boycott....LMFAO.

The ironic thing here is that of all the retailers out there, i would rather deal with Warfel than anybody else, and I do on a regular basis even though I don't agree with him on every business aspect. And if you think that eztoyz hasn't lost customers or business to me and Warfel then you are sadly and ignorantly mistaken. It's hilarious how many collectors come to me when I beat eztoyz prices by just a couple dollars.

I think, at least what I'm taking from this thread, is that any of these retailers are, with good communication, willing to work with us to resolve issues-and that's good news for all of us!

That's the #1 thing about Nick, customer service. He answers your emails promptly and courteously. Class act guy for sure! He will always get my $. He's put models on hold for me before for longer periods of time than he needs to for one reason or another quite a few times. He's never threatend to kick my @** or anything, so the 'emotionally unstable' comment is kinda far fetched imo. BTW Nick if you read this, my 3 77W's landed safely this morning. Many thanks!
