Default 1:200 is just like a drug, once you suck in, you couldn't look back....

I have recently gotten into 1:200 scale models, I gotta say this is so much more fun to play with compare to 1:400 scale, at least I can play with the accessories more!

Hi:

this is our hobby, but as many of us say, it is much better paying for models than buying drugs or weed. I have sometimes jet withdrawal and I often have this feel of buying new models to my collection without a true argument. Just buy them and point. The problem, the space, you have to sell or box models to make room for coming birds.

Greetings.

I LOVE 1:200 scale...by far my favorite. There's just so much detail (at least on most of the models). I'm waiting for some more military models in 1:200 to come out. There's a nice assortment so far, but some of the more rare and elusive airframes need to be produced.

I like your accessories. Are they the Herpa ones? Also, is your KLM 737 Gemini 200? Just curious.

Looking Good!

Nice GSE! 1/200 is a very exciting scale. The details are at a whole new level from collecting 1/400's, but I thought I would end up just getting 737's and other similar size jets, but I now have 3 777's and tarmac space is getting hard to come by.... The huge drawback about 1/200 is that it costs so much. Roughly $100 for a 777. Thats a lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and ramen noodles for lunch just to absorb that hit..... but boy is it worth it!

Man, I have been collecting 1:400 777 all these years, but from the time that I've got the GJ Emirates 777-300ER and JC SQ 777-300ER, I am planning to largely reduce my 1:400 777 collection.

I keep telling my wife collecting keeps me off the streets, but at these prices it might put me on the street.

The model is up on a stand, on a plank, on a pile of bricks.... The camera is on a tripod with a cable release, ( cheapo Chinese 3 metre one) .. I simply therefore stand on a chair and huff and puff and blow the blades round.... The hair dryer don't reach.....

When the Connie falls off the stand for the fourth time and I repair it yet again, I do think as to whether it is worth the sacrifice, but then I look at the photo and I feel it does have a life....

That Connie photo was the best out of about 50 shots... Getting 3 to spin is easy... It's that bloomin 4th one!!!!

Yep, they're bigger and more fun! And also very addicting, I already have over 20 1:200s to add to my collection on a "waiting list". Of course I can't afford any of them right now (as I'm making another big purchase soon) and the list just keeps growing as more models get released in 1:200 and I see more and more that I like. Hopefully I will be able to take a bite out of the waiting list, but for now, it helps ease the insanity if you plan your addiction.

I don't have a huge collection, but I love what I've got. By the way, your photos have inspired me to get some GSE!

Here are some recent photos
