B-24 (not very many of this one, as I was more focused on the -17)

Nice photos. I had the chance to walk through them when they visited Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport two weeks ago and again with my Dad on Easter Sunday up at Scottsdale Airport.

Great photos. I was going to see these planes, but got pre-occupied with installing hardwood floors in the Tupi Villa. I did get to see the B-17 take-off while on a home depot run.

LGB Long Beach Boeing plant is the "Home" of the C-17. They are being built there. The C-17's in the photos are in final assembly.

Well, looking up the serials of these aircraft, they have already been in service for a while. This area of the airport (next to the control tower) has been used to repair a couple different types of Military aircraft - C-17s, C-130s, and there was at one point a B-1 over there.

I agree with Tony, the B-17 Flying Fortress is definitely one of the greatest aircraft in the world. I believe Corgi has a B-17 in the Nine-O-Nine livery and I hear it's very popular with collectors.
