Default !!!Ear Porn!!!

I suggest we post the most beautiful aural aircraft sounds in this thread. I encourage everyone to join in and spread the joy of the sound of aviation.

I will begin with what is arguably the loudest and greatest engine sound in modern aviation. The Lockheed C-5 Galaxy with her four orgasmic GE TF39 turbofan engines. Turn up that volume!!!

For a little effer, this thing is loud. I actually worked the aircraft in the video at Lunken Airport in Cincinnati. The pilot in the orange shirt is actually a pretty cool guy and used to own two of these Paris Jets. The one in the video became a parts donor for his flyer now, N69X. He ended up selling 2Q and now only has 9X. I had to double up ear protection when working it. Video doesn't do it justice.

I don't know how they can keep the canopy open and still hear. When it's really hot out he'll taxi with the canopy open. Bose should use that as a commercial.

When I first worked it I didn't know how loud it was, or what it was. So I only had ear plugs loosely in because I'm my father and don't like ear protection. Never again. I had to wear tight ear plugs and then over the ear ear protection. Flippin nuts.

The CAC Boomerang:

Merlin powered Spits

….and preserved EE Lightning at Bunty.

Blighty lads sure do know how to make some noise with their aircraft.

This is difficult as I have a collection of LP and CD of aircraft sounds

Of the more distinctive sounding:

Antonov AN-22

Totally unique sound from contra-rotating props.

Newer is the Airbus A400M which sounds not unlike the AN22 if lower volume and higher in pitch.

and then the RR Dart Herald,Viscount,F27 etc that distinctive high pitched whine. (goosebumps)

Chinook anyone?

Vulcan.....

Then the one to beat everything SR71 Blackbird....

I thought the title read 'East Porn', i was asking myself what the heck is 'East Porn'? Anyway what i consider to be music to my ear is depicted in the three videos below, basically any propeller engine of the last major war such as the sound of that famous Rolls-Royce Merlin..

Wow these sounds are amazing! Gotta love the P-51 and the Huey and of course the Spitfire.

Here's a sound we unfortunately don't hear anymore, but at least we can enjoy it in beautiful HD. God Bless America!

This sounds better than a TF-34 violating a Viper while a Dart watches from the closet. Subtitles are key:
