Default The most secret weapon of the Luftwaffe

I share with you a lot of pictures, some of them previously unreleased, rare and never before seen by me, referring to one of the secret weapons of the Luftwaffe. We are talking about the Horten flying wing. Perhaps, the aircraft of the Second World War the most ahead of its time than any other, went into production too late to be put into service. Do you think if he had gone into production would have changed the course of the war and history? Visit the link below and give us your opinion about it.

Thanks for posting that, I hadn't seen some of those pictures before.

It may have changed the path of the war had it gone into production, but perhaps not the outcome. It's most radical feature was the mounting of the engines inboard with the exhausts exiting above the wing which ensured it remained virtually invisible on radar. Without those innovative German designers (Horten Brothers included) it might have taken Northrop well over the 40-odd years it took to eventually perfect the prohibitively expensive B2. That would have undoubtedly changed the path and casualty rate of the Gulf wars.

Never seen anything like that before! Looks better and cooler than the B-2! Thank you for posting!
