It was great to come back home with a camera. I only wish it could have been a longer trip and that the marine layer had burned off. Can't wait to get back. Hopefully this winter. Hope you guys enjoy the pics!

WOW ! great pictures, I loved the beginning few on the 752, also the shot of the I N Out Burger I love spotting from there and the top of the carpark behind it. The shot of the two 744s nose to nose was sweet too !

It's pretty special. It actually makes ORD look boring.

Nice perspective on the In and Out! Better grab all the 744s while you can before they are taken over by 77Ws at these major airports.
Thanks, Freak! I was in 'scheme' heaven on this trip. On my first night I was helping a guy at INO with his camera and the AA (737) Retrojet flew right over us. I'm still bummed I missed that one. Hope to see it again.

Beautiful pics. You sure got some good shots and a nice variety with some special schemes. What lens do you mainly use. I'm on the hill twice a month. Still one of the best spots for spotting and pics.
thanks

Thanks, Homer! I was shooting with a Nikon 70-300mm VR from The Hill. I used my 80-400mm for a few but was not happy with the results I was getting. Not very happy with the 400mm lens overall.

I really enjoyed your photographs. The National Freighter was impressive... I will be at LAX at the end of the month and hope to see a good variety as well. Great work!
Re: LAX Spotting: September 2011 (PHOTO INTENSIVE)
Amazing shots! It's hard to pick any favorites. I do however like the retro Continental Shot, N75436. LAX would be an awesome place to go spotting, huge airport with huge planes. The Qantas planes look good, especially the 747, and the National 747 is cool as well.
Off topic: How is your experience with American Airlines? I've heard that they aren't the best to fly with, and the planes aren't taken very well care of.
Re: LAX Spotting: September 2011 (PHOTO INTENSIVE)
Fantastic shots, Koz. Looks like you had a great time in L.A.!
I've recently been looking at Nikon's lenses. Particularly the 55-200 VR and 70-300 VR. It looks like the 300 did the job well at the mound. I've heard mostly positives about it. How do you like it?

Thanks, Brian! The National left a few people on the hill with their jaws wide open. Pretty cool!

Thanks, BA! I really like American. I usually fly United but I'm growing fond of AA. I was on 738's both ways and loved 'em!

Thanks! I LOVE my 70-300 VR. It's sharp and compared to my 80-400 VR, it actually gives me a better shot all the way around. It's by far my go to lens (until I get my hands on better 400-500mm glass. The 55-200 VR is a pretty good lens too. I had that with my D60.

Thanks, Neil! I have to laugh because I always see N121UA at maintenance at ORD.

Re: LAX Spotting: September 2011 (PHOTO INTENSIVE)
Amazing photos Koz. You captured some great aircraft. You got both the Continental and United retro liveries.
Sorry I did not get to meet up with you for some spotting. We have been having some bad luck with auto problems the last several weeks between the wife and I.
Re: LAX Spotting: September 2011 (PHOTO INTENSIVE)
Amazing pictures ; you did great shots with your camera !!!
I love the light on your pictures, especially the ones you
did inside the AA aircraft.
A big thank you for sharing this with us.

Cool, glad to see some positive feedback on AA. When I ever fly I will either choose them or Delta, only bad thing is that Springfield only has a small regional airport, so I would get to fly on a smaller plane. That first 737 you were on seems to be a new one, should have had the Sky Boeing interior.
Also, is Copa Airlines a relative of Continental/United?
