Default LOT's new livery

PICTURES: LOT revises livery as 787 makes Warsaw appearance
By David Kaminski-Morrow

Polish flag-carrier LOT has unveiled a revised livery as it celebrated the arrival of a Boeing 787 at its Warsaw base.
Its new colour scheme will strongly feature elements of the current livery, including the large stylised lettering on the fuselage and the familiar bird logo.
LOT was among the first customers in Europe to agree to take the twinjet. It will configure its 787s with 18 business-class, 21 premium-economy class and 213 economy-class seats.
The cabin will include audio-video in-flight entertainment, including Internet access, said LOT, after the 787 touched down in the Polish capital having appeared at the Paris air show.
"Being the first European airline to receive the modern 787, LOT has decided to use this opportunity to refresh the livery of its aircraft," it added.

It said the livery "does not break with tradition but is rather a project that combines the glorious past of the national carrier with a modern design".
LOT chief Marcin Pirog said: "We look forward to next year when our passengers will have the opportunity to experience the uniqueness of the Boeing 787 and the new quality of LOT's service."

I like the new look. The omission of the blue glareshield was a good idea. As for the cabin....IMO...as sterile as a porta-john. I see no signs of individuality or softness anywhere. A sea of plastic and a bit of fabric. A refrigerator has more warmth. Cabins don't need to be psychedelic, but I get no impression of any specific carrier. A warmer palette and use of more tactile surfaces would do wonders....(but that is just my opinion).

I completely agree. The cabin looks anonymous and bland, as if you were crossing the skies in a hospital bed.

I understand a lot of the current design philosophy is about saving weight, etc while offering the premium passenger (and coach), a memorable experience. I think the airlines should take a look at what bizjet mfgs do to visually maximize and personalize a much smaller cabin. A bizjet interior is big bucks, but there's a lot to be interpreted in a more cost effective way for the masses in a large airliner.

PS...Nice Dreamliner sketches...did you do them?

I wish! Nah, they came from LOT`s website. I imagine the design firm did them up for them.

Another classic European livery gone to waste. The existing scheme suits the 787 so much more:

I'm going to have to disagree. The cheat-line does not fit the 787 in my opinion. It was time for LOT to update it's livery. As much as aviation enthusiasts love classic liveries, the general public (most of the passengers) always want the next NEW best thing.

There's not a LOT to it, one of these days bold, vibrant and striking colours will be back in fashion.

Nice, I like it. And it fits the 787 better than their current livery IMO. A modern look with reference to its past, best new livery since a long time !

It's a good thing they retained some colors. Not unlike Finnair. I still find their new livery a little too white. But I would do like the new LOT livery in a metallic silver-ish color to make the rest of the color palette pop. Just not white I guess.

The white and red for the Polish flag on the tail is a nice touch.
