Well I didn't think anything could have been worse than Air Canada's toilet bowl livery. I was wrong that is UGLY.

Hmm, mixed feelings about this one. The new Air Transat titles look good, I like the positioning and the star on the front. The Tail is.... ehm.... Well, I do really like the different coloured words in different languages saying Welcome. But add some more colour! The words are so small that its almost like just leaving the tail white. Add some blue! Keep the tail section blue, put on the "welcomes" in lighter contrasting colours, paint the engines blue! Add some more colour!

Even if it is boring, where there is colour, I do kind of like it. But this isn't one of TS's better schemes.

I will say: 'Yes' but don't ask me to go any further as my fellow countrymen will likely get very upset at me.

But then what can one expect . . . Air TranShat is a low-ball budget carrier.

Hey would not disagree one bit with you on that point at all.

There is nothing creative about this. All this "new" livery shows is another bland Eurowhite design and the many different ways to say "welcome" on the back are an attempt to justify this new livery as unique. The new Finnair livery is better than this.

I disagree. The Finnair livery is a paper plane with the blue letters "FINNAIR" scribbled on the side, oh yeah and it has an "F" on the tail...

TS Actually attempted to add colour on top of the white body, if those "welcomes" were bigger and covered up more white with more colour (or if they coloured the tail in the background) it would look a lot better. They have the idea, it just needs some filling.

Just plain and boring. I like the A330's tail. It reminds me of the old United safety video opening.

Well, they only own it for 3 Months, so don't expect anything special. It's not worth the time and money to paint it fully.

Hideous! I believe this could be a special scheme though. The back ain`t all bad but the front is messed up, disorganized IMO.

Wow, thats not a livery, its just a white airplane with a bunch of stickers on it . I bet one of the reasons for all these minimalist liveries lately is there weight. Less paint means less weight.

I dunno, I actually kinda like it. Its refreshing if you ask me. Don't get me wrong, their current livery was better, but this isn't half bad for a eurowhite scheme.

But surely even white paint weighs something ? I suspect the sudden rash of eurowhite liveries across the board is more to do with having leased aircraft in a base colour that can easily be traded around the market.

The front of that A330 has got to be the biggest half-*** job I've EVER seen. What a typographic mess. The "Air" is so out of place and the words are not lined up with star properly. Not to mention "Air" is in a completely out of place font.

As for the tail, the idea is pretty cool, however there's a big blank space where the stabs are. They should have continued text there, even if words ended up behind the stab.

This livery is just too white. It looks as if they are leasing this A330 for a month so they slapped some things on it.

To me, it looks like it was either an in-house design job and the project was assigned to a timid 'junior' who was just following orders 'from on high' or . . . the design job went to a bona fide design firm (selected on the lowest bid) who either assigned the job to a 'junior' due to the micro-budget or . . . the presented creative was picked to death by a bunch of airline executives at Air TranShat who think they know more about effective communication design than the firm they hired -- so they did it themselves as a committee and 'directed' the poor Designer. This scenario has been known to happen many times in the design world, so it really doesn't surprise me that we end up with vapid and insipid liveries. Sad.

That said . . . we know that consumers don't choose one airline over the other because of 'the pretty design on the airplane'. I, myself, choose to fly Porter but the bland livery has nothing to do with it, nor is the WestJet livery the reason I don't book with Air Canada. My carrier choices are made for different reasons, and not all are based on price. (Mind you, Air TranShat is a COMPLETE non-starter for me anyhow)
