American to clip the Eagle?

A report claims American Airlines is again hedging toward divesting its regional carrier, American Eagle...

I honestly hope they don't. They're the only other carrier serving my local airport (along with Delta, with CRJ-200s) and I prefer the ERJ in terms of comfort.

American Eagle is the crappiest commuter airline in the US at the moment, worse than Comair. They need to get their stuff together or good riddance.

Not really new.

They've been trying to sell Eagle for years. Nobody wants to buy it. Nobody wants to be stuck with all those 50-seaters.

So spinning it off might be the only option.

It would still exist, if it were spun off. It just wouldn't be AMR's financial headache as much.

Do you know who would LOVE to be stuck with all those 50 seaters? Syrianair.
Because guess whose flying 2 old A320s that they can barely keep in the air, and calling them selfs a national airline?
