This is going to be a great plane with hopefully many more orders to come.

They [Boeing] said they did this livery as it's a sign of strength, power, etc in alot of countries around the world.

I thought the red is supposed to allude to the first 747 prototype, the 747-100 which had a red cheatline and a red 'L' on the tail..

I was just repeating what was said during the live unveiling about the livery.

I dont know plane looks good. but the livery is underwhelming for me. Was hoping to see something new.

Yes, no criticism.. The same ole bla bla of offficials.. This was my try to see something deeper in it, an allusion to the history of the Boeing 747, one of the biggest milestones in avaitaion history - wouldn't that have been smarter to point this out!? This was my first thought, that the red should allude to Boeing's classic house colors, but well - i guess that was not their intention.. Anyway, release some in LH colors and send them home to Fra!! - That's what i'm waiting for..

Then release some in 1:400 and send them to my home.
Who knows, maybe there was that idea of bringing the old livery to the new livery. I wouldn't be surprised if there was.

Yes, they're welcome, too!
If only Dragon Wings still made LH models..

I will drive to Fra to welcome D-ABYA to salute the queen when she arrives for the first time. LH should sell off thier A388s and order 10 or 20 more Intercontinentals.. The only airframe that can replace the style and glory of LH's 30 B744s are 30 B748Is!

True that! I'm loving that red!
Besides there are worse colours out there...
Although that green looks kinda cool.

Re: 747-8i is HERE!
I acutally have come to kind of like the red and Orange. Looks kind of nice.
Gargle Jus, those rainbow 747s are great! If they had green, yellow, blue and red that would be great. But I love the plane, and I think the red/orange is kinda growing on me. I might try some different coloured 747-8s in PS later.

Don't give Boeing any ideas.
Besides, I like this red/orange livery. It definitely stands out.

Re: 747-8i is HERE!
The plane is hot, but the two guys playing the violins are hotter.......would love to see the 747-8 in the famous SQ colors, imagine how beautiful that would look. But i dont know what all the hype is about, its not like its a new plane or anything. Boeing just basically stretched the 747, added a new wing and bigger engines.

I suppose at the end of the day, the blue version was designed for the 787, why not a different colour for every new Boeing design ?
Let's see the 777 in green next !

Maybe Boeing will change the colours in the future, every new type a different colour. I think they just did not know what colour to use because they had 2 or 3 different colours schemes with the B748 and the B788..
