Default Anyone ever traveled Virgin Atlantic?

Hey guys,
I'm planning to go to LA this summer, but I'm still undecided, which airline(s) to take. The connections, I found (and I could afford):

TXL --> LHR (BMI, A319)
LHR --> LAX (Air NewZealand, B747)
(same way back)

TXL --> LHR (BMI, A319)
LHR --> LAX (Virgin Atlantic, A340-600)
(same way back)

TXL --> JFK (Delta, B767)
JFK --> LAX (Delta, don't remember the aircraft)
(same way back)

The connection including Virgin Atlantic is the cheapest (650€) and I always wanted to get the experience of flying with Virgin, but I have absolutely no idea, whether they're good or not. Same with Air NewZealand (702€)....

I read quite a lot bad customer reviews for Delta, especially for the flight TXL --> JFK and back....

Any suggestions?

I'd be very grateful for any reviews regarding Virgin Atlantic and Air NewZealand.

I had a pleasant experience flying VS from JFK-LHR and back again. I would not hesitate to recommend them. Free booze, decent food, and attentive attendants...

If VS is anything like VX, then I'd say go for it! Besides, I'd be curious what you think of the A346 if you haven't yet flown on one.

I have flown both carriers between LAX-LHR. Personally I preferred ANZ with bright white interior vs red interior on VS aircraft. Also the rear section of Virgin aircraft could be tight as they allocated more spaces for the front section. If you collect frequent flyer miles go with BMI and ANZ, so all of your miles are with Star Alliance. Hope this helps a bit.

I flew Virgin, LHR-LAX a few years ago and had a great time. Cabin crew were most attentive and a lot of fun over that length of flight. Done BA on the same trip and found it very dull by comparison.

Thanks for these helpful comments. Du to the fact, that the Virgin flight has become more expensive just half an hour after I posted the question and because I do collect Miles with Lufthansa... I decidied to choose Air NewZealand. Apart from that, I won't have to change terminals in Heathrow, 'cos BMI and Air NewZealand depart from the same terminal.

Thanks a lot again!

I am very much looking forward to my first flight out of Europe. And it's gonna be the first time on a B747, or a widebody in general..... I've only seen the inside in a museum, so far.
