Default Was SWAL Japan part of JAL prior to becoming JTA?

I just received this model. I see besides this an even earlier scheme of Southwest Airlines Japan flew with exact cheat to what JAL flew on their DC-6's, DC-8's and first CV-880 schemes? Just wondering if it was just a name change to show that it was a subsidiary by going to the name Japan Transocean Air.
