...and a possible change of time zones...
...or possibly grumpy FAs and gate agents...

peeling paint, revealing old TWA colors. (look for the ones with P&W engines.)

Didn't AA...

-Strip the paint off the TWA planes and-
-return the x-TWA 757s to lessors?

Anyway, does AA still have "more room throughout coach"?

Nope,

here at MCO I see at least 4 ex-TWA 757s daily. Some have the gray paint on the wing to fuselage fairing peeling off revealing the dark blue TWA stripe, some others have gray paint on the tail peeling off, and under the "AA" logo, and you can see parts of the TWA letters.

Are there any ex-TWA employees left?

There a few ex-TWA 757s in the fleet, 16 to be exact, and all will be returned to the lessors. 11 have been returned this year. The original date was 2007, but I'm pretty certain it's been moved up to late 2004.

More room in coach will gone from all 757s by February.

One more thing- if you fly an AA 757, get a seat as far away from the lavatories as possible, because they're NEVER cleaned and you can smell them from as far as 6 rows away. I remember my last trip on an AA 757, I was in row 29 and the odor from the lavs was unbearable.

Mexicana does the same thing on their 757s...I sat 2 rows from the back and the stink was horrid!

About five of them at last count, none of them in St. Louis. The brain trust at AMR HQ has been sipping the blue water if you ask me.

First thing your going to notice is that the landing gears is kind of long.
Next thing is that it is kinda shinny looking (especially after a bath).
There should be one round big thing on each wing.
Once on board the cloth is mostly blue and the seats aint too roomy and there is 3 on each side.
You’re going to hear some noises, it may be a little scary at first but you’ll quickly get used to taxiing around.
Then your going to go pretty fast and your stomach will feel all ousy and weird and lots more noises (don’t be alarmed by the noise it a good thing, I promise).
Hopefully the sun will be out the port window if not, let the stewardess know so she can tell the pilot (make sure you call them “stewardess”, they like that a lot.
Then you will start getting uncomfortable but don’t be alarmed because there is 250 other poor bastards that are experiencing the same human rights violations as you.
Enjoy the crappy service (for the next 4.5 hours) you will receive from women old enough to be your great grandmamma but so ornery that they couldn’t find a mate.
If you actually do make it to your west coast destination don’t worry because your luggage did not but you won’t care cause you’ll be so damn happy to be the hell of that sorry excuse of an airline you won’t give a damn.

I'm flying Song again on the 19th, hope it one of the 757s with the new inflight entertainment system. I first flew them back in April, leather seats are nice, could be roomier.

To add to Dave's perfect flight iternary on an AA 757, don't expect any form of solid edible material (the inflight magazine doesn't count) unless the flight is over 4 hours in length. If the flight is slightly more than 4 hours, you are still lucky if you get food. Now, if you are a "lucky" soul, and the flight is 4.5 hours or more, you wll get a delightful meal, or as American PR calls it, a Bistro Bag. It usually includes a bag with 6.45 stale Doritos, a napkin, some plastic wear (that has no apparent use), and some Banana Avacado yogurt. This will be modified for breakfast flights to 8 whole raisins, a napkin, the useless plastic wear and a granola bar with card board chunks in it. Perhaps the most edible portion of any Bistro service is the salt and pepper packets, for those who like their Doritos, yogurt and/or raisins salted and peppered. Try not to ask for another drink either, you are lucky you got the first one. Hope you enjoy.

Basically, if you wanna eat good on the flight, stop at the local 7-11 and stock up, but be prepared to fight off the other passengers.

Get a window seat! Otherwise if you are in the aisle seat, l;ean towards the window, because otherwise you'll be getting a large bruise on your exposed shoulder due to the high speed drink cart going through the aisle, but don't expect an apology when you get hit. And don't sit in the middle seat because that guy/gal in the aisle seat will be leaning towards you in about 1/2 hour because of the above reasons. And if your row gets skipped during the drink service, don't worry you won't be alone, it's happened to me twice on the same trip.

This was absolutely hysterical! Unfortunately, it's also very true.
