Default American MD-82 Aviationtag

Aviationtag released an American MD-80 this week. I know Planetags also had one but I didn't like it because it had the new AA logo on it and it just didn't make any sense to me to use that on the MD-80. Anyway, it's a nice a little addition and I was happy it was an ex-TWA bird too. N922TW was originally delivered as a MD-81 to Swissair, converted to a MD-82, flew with TWA beginning in 1997 and was retired by American in 2003.

As an addition to the overseas shipping thread in general, it came from Germany via DHL, shipped on Tuesday and arrived today.

That's a cool item to have. I just saw (Can't remember which site), an AA MD-80 exterior window frame. I believe it was quite expensive.

Found it. Thanks Google. Sorry, I didn't mean to hi-jack the thread. I thought you may like.

Exactly why I didn’t consider the planetag one. This is cool news!
Thanks or sharing, Arctic

That’s really cool! I like the old logo better on the keychain, too. I have one made by Planetags of the Super 80 with the new logo, from a legacy AA plane that first flew in September of 1987. Too bad this one was a former Swissair and TWA plane, otherwise I’d be interested.

AA gave away some keychains made from some scrapped 767-300s to high level frequent fliers in the AAdvantage program as gifts. I saw one recently on eBay, it came from the first 763 delivered to AA in 1988, tail no. 351. Amazing to think that I worked on that plane!

Thumbs up for the old AA logo but would rather the tag be polished.

I actually prefer the TWA history but I’m also more of a fan of TWA than AA.

Also, I like the tag just the way it is and untouched. The frame has been sitting for 17 years so it shouldn’t look new.
