Hello Denis

If my memory serves me well I remember that in the very late 60s and early 70s Lufthansa was still operating Viscounts with this livery and titles on the fuselage.

I am sure that a Lufthansa fan will have the answer.

Jean Pierre.

Don't think this livery actually existed, looked in to my Lufthansa books but could not find it. Like to know for sure though.. Maybe someone out here knows.

Hi,

I never saw this bevore. What I saw up to now was, that the titles changed to Arial font type still before this logo on the vertical stabilizer came up, so already with "still the Lufthansa parabel" there.

But why not?

There are some more interesting things about it ... e. g. the D-ABOS, later registered into D-ABOV where You can see some modifications over the time. The D-ABOS still had the ventral fin that was removed later. You can find postcards in the newer 70s - 80s livery still with the D-ABOS registration and the ventral fin.

To me it seems that some pictures used on postcards were recolored - probably an easy way to go with the time.

Another example for a very unlike Lufthansa livery is this one:

Found some info about the last photo shown by Jawomba:
"Former El Al Boeing 707-458 in Lufthansa colours, later marked with fake reg "D-ABOC".
November 1986 at Berlin-Tegel airport; preserved aircraft."
Although it's a fantasy-livery it's a very nice one!!!!

As I am in contact with Inflight200 (yesterday I did send them a message about the 2 photos here posted on the forum):
-the first one is the B707-330B on Yustas' postcard which is most probably a retouched photo = blue tail and too big yellow circle with cran-symbol

I can't find any photos of the one on Yustas' postcard.I am quite sure this livery never excisted.

-the second one is the B707-458 photo shown by Jawomba which was taken at Berlin-Tegel airport on november 22nd 1986.Of this one some but not many photos can be found on the internet: google "D-ABOC Berlin-Tegel".

I also looked in my books but had no succes!
But I found some very interesting history of the one in Berlin-Tegel:

https://digitalcosmonaut.com/2016/be...ed-boeing-707/

I don't think the blue tail with the yellow parabol and cranesymbol lasted very long as later the tail was painted in the deliverycolours = white tail, blue band with yellow parabol and cranesymbol.Nevertheless that should make a very nice model in 1/200.
Bob from Inflight asked me more info about the two B707's and maybe someone on the forum knows more about them.
Yustas, is it possible to post a bigger picture of the B707-330 and also the back of the postcard; maybe there is some info on the back.
Many thanks!!

The 2 photos are exactly the same except for the B707-tail on your postcard!

Shame as this would be have been a nice one!!
Your postcard and the original photo (see link) shows that the photo on the postcard was retouched; the tail became blue with yellow circle and crane-symbol.The original photo (see link) shows the exact aircraft as it was at that time: tail and titles in deliverycolours/font but the cheatline was already simplified to a straight blue line instead of the original yellow-bordered blue cheatline with the downcurve (parabol) on the nose.

Here is the original photo

... I found the following story about the ElAl 707-458 that went to D-ABOC:

https://digitalcosmonaut.com/2016/be...ed-boeing-707/

I think that is an intersting story about it.

Jan

A real pitty that the plane is neglected like this. She would be a stunner if freshly painted. @Filip, is inflight planning on releasing a new lufthansa 707?

If I remember well Aero Classics released some years ago two beautiful B 720-030 Bs.
They were splendid.
The wing details of the Inflight B 720 B are inaccurate, flaps, spoilers ...
Can be forgotten

As far as the B 707 is concerned, even if the fuselage was a bit too fat, the B 707-430 released by Herpa was quite convincing.

For a B 707-330 B /C, Inflight model is the only solution and is quite decent.

Jean Pierre.
