Indeed. I wonder what the malfunction was. Must've been sudden, because they were so close to the airport.

Right now, everything's pointing to an unintentional gear-up landing, aircraft engines briefly made contact with the runway, aircraft went around, engines began failing, and it went down in a neighborhood just short of runway 25L in a densely populated neighborhood.

Gentlemen, looks like there were only 2 passenger survivors from the crash.c

I am amazed that there were no fatalities in the residential area being reported at the moment.

Here is an update from the BBC:

Yes, I agree with you on that definitely sums up the chain of events. Strange that the flight crew did not act sooner on the 'Dinging' alarm going off in the cockpit that their landing gear was not deployed. Were they distracted with something else at the time?

Just wondering what altitude must be breached to trigger that alarm to sound off to warn the pilots that they did not deploy their gear? Listening to the audio exchange between the pilot and ATC, the flight crew/pilot did not sound to distressed with the earlier stages of their situation. Could it be possible that the crew when attempting to land the first time, forgot to deploy the gear; and said 'Oops my bad' let's try this again with a go-around.

I am just baffled surrounding this tragic crash. Will be interesting when the air crash investigators release the flight recorder information in the next week or so.

Dear Collectors,

I am Kamran Sekha, the owner of Retro Models.

Sadly, my second cousin's son, daughter-in-law and their three boys were killed in this air crash. They were also part of my close family friends and personal travel agents, Polani Travels.

I have been very distraught and shocked since last Friday.

I have attached screenshots of my Facebook condolence message to Tariq Polani who is the co-owner of Polani Travels, and is one of my best friends. Tariq Polani is also the uncle of Zain Polani who was killed. Also attached is a similar message I sent to Rahim Polani, who is Zain Polani's brother. I have also attached another two photos of Zain Polani and his family.

From a deeply shocked and sad, Kamran.

Speculation seems to be that they were very hot and high on the initial approach, and that they may have silenced some of the normal warnings that would have alerted them to the gear up situation. As you say though, we'll know more once the CVR is analyzed.

Kamran, sorry for your loss.

My sincere condolences to you Kamran. I can't fathom the pain and sorrow you, your family and their relatives are going through at this time. I thank you for sharing your personal photos of the family members in my thread, which really brings a perspective to the DAC forum on how other DAC members are personally affected by such a tragic aviation accident.

My prayers are with you and your loved ones, God Bless. T7
