Default AA retires five aircraft types

AA has officially retired the E190 and 767 fleets. See article for additional accelerated retirement notices.

The current situation has killed the most iconic aircraft in the fleet. The 757 and 767 will be missed so much. I loved the 757 since I first saw the bird in the 80s when AA used to operate the route Miami to La Paz, Bolivia. I fell in love since then. I worked for AA in La Paz but they ended the service to La Paz in 2018 and Santa Cruz VVI last year. It was a heartbreaking decision.

Here is a tribute to the most beautiful, sexy pencil bird wearing the livery that truely represents AA history IMO. Nothing beats the polished fuselage.

Sad news indeed. Both aircraft types are dear to me as well. I first laid eyes on an EAL 757 with her gorgeous shiny polished skin while in line for takeoff out of ORD. Naturally, she had "757" emblazoned on her vertical stabilizer.
Again at ORD, I first saw the mighty 767. She was wearing the regal Battleship Grey livery of UAL. Later I was privileged to fly on her from Orlando back to Chicago. It was the most pleasant and comfortable flight of my life.

Come on now would be the perfect time for a couple of commemorative AA releases in the classic livery, both 757 and 767 would be greatly received by many collectors here in both 1:200 and 1:400. Many have fond memories of these planes and the original releases are hard to find and usually well over priced.
Anyone else thinking this?

Such a shame. They sent the B757 to LHR for a while and the B767 has been a visitor for years! Will miss them both dearly!

I've only taken one trip on American, back in the early 90s. SFO to TPA and return with a change in DFW. SFO-DFW/DFW-SFO legs were serviced by 767s; DFW-TPA/TPA-DFW were serviced by 757s. All of my flights were quite enjoyable, especially on the 767, and I was in economy which I'm never happy in.

Some of their 767's have already begun freighter conversion.

When I heard they were retiring I was going to try to fly on each one one last time but everything deteriorated so fast I didn't get a chance to. Looks like my last flights were
757: EGE-DFW in 2015
767: MCO-MIA in 2015

The 757 in the classic livery is well overdue!

I'm definitely going to miss the iconic AA 757 go, i flew on her back in 1997 going to Aruba on vacation in a time before you had social media, iPhones, facebook and this BS Coronavirus...

Is there any routes still fly with AA 757's during next month or so? Or are they truly all grounded?
