Default Another Case of "Where To Put It"

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this...Please let me know if it's not. I hope others find it interesting.

About ten years ago I purchased this sign off an online auction. It's a metal sign that was mounted on an outside wall off some sort at an airport. It measures 29" x 37", and is 1/8" thick (aluminum?). The background is Scotchlite or something similar. I had wanted to mount it on the wall in my den, but you know who (wife) said absolutely not. I'm tired of it not being seen and enjoyed, so I think I may mount it in the basement. I won't ask her opinion before doing it...I'm slow, but I'm learning.

How about in the garage?? Looks like a nice piece of aviation history.

Real tomato ketchup Eddie?
Nothing but the best! "I don't know why they call this stuff hamburger helper. It does just fine by itself, huh? I like it better than tuna helper myself, don't you, Clark?"
"you're the gourmet around here, Ed!"

Get a girlfriend and display it in her house!

Nice sign...put it where you can enjoy it!

Nice sign indeed. I would be happy to hang it in my “airplane room” so that your wife doesn’t have to look at it.

Thank you. I just don't get her sense of taste. A few years ago I wanted to put a vintage wood propeller on the mantle over the fireplace, and I got what I call "the laser stare" from her.

My fiancé got me a throw pillow for my media room couch with a picture of FRA airport. No airplanes, just 3 Lufthansa flags with the sun and a radar dish in the background.

It was a nice gift, but is not comfortable to use. So I put it on our bed next to some other throw pillows. It had been long mandated that no airplanes allowed in the bedroom, but this got me in the same amount of trouble.

Told her that whoever makes the bed should get to choose what throw pillows. That didn't fly.

Maybe I'll propose that. A win-win situation

I simply want to keep my wife happy and not have an argument. Let it be said that I'm still in charge and have the final say. Uh oh...I felt my nose growing.

I have the perfect spot on my wall. You'll retain full ownership, of course!

Whose den is it? Yours or your wifes? My 'man cave' is mine and I have it how I want it. This is the only room in the house where I have the final say!

I'm actually pretty lucky in that my wife has never given me crap about it and has even encouraged it. My proudest moment cam last month when we were looking at new houses in Nevada (relocating) and, while doing a walkthrough of one house in particular, I said "here's the airplane room!" and she said "This isn't any bigger than the one you have now, you'll need a bigger one."

The den is mine, but I want to keep the peace. For that matter, I told her the kitchen is hers (please don't tell her I said that), but she still wouldn't put something on the walls there that I don't like.
