Default Special livery for Qantas 10th 787-9 VH-ZNJ

100 years maybe? for VH-ZNJ Qantas have done a big tease video but looks very special indeed

on Qantas facebook page

https://www.facebook.com/Qantas/vide...469838148/?t=0

Qantas is doing proving flights most likely this aircraft New York JFK to Sydney YSSY this Thursday Direct Non Stop. Watch this space! Also a world record attempt! Note 787-9 is not the future equipment aircraft that Qantas plans to use. It will be the A350-9ULR or 777-8 or 777-9 ultimately.

I am looking forward to seeing this. i really like when we get these "teasers" from airlines, it's a bit of fun and builds the excitement, especially for us collectors.

Looking at the clip it looks like it has large 10 or 100 titles and a possible red belly? so i am guessing it's not a retro livery.

All will be revealed when it rolls out of Boeing's paint shop today! From what I can see so far it does have a red belly, and instead of Qantas titles on the belly it has a kangaroo. Nice! When Qantas get the keys to the aircraft it will be ferried to JFK I believe. A small group of Qantas staff (about 30) will be on the JFK to SYD inaugural non stop test / proving flight

From the short 6 second video I can see retro font on Qantas titles and Qantas Carnation Red applied and part of this 1947-1968 logo is in the video, however, for that matter they all could be with 100 years titles!

Great to see another 100 years dreamliner flying around. Happy birthday Qantas! I am sure this will become a nice model aircraft very soon.

As per my OP This will be a world record. The Qantas crew and the Qantas staff on this historic journey are all going to be monitored very closely by Doctors and assessment and evaluations for Qantas "Project "Sunrise" here is a video link for this 19 hour project flight

Youtube link : Long Haul From Down Under: Quantas To Test 19-Hour Flights

incorrect spelling so you would not find it on You tube so easy

Hopefully when we get this model the manufactures will grace us with some commemorative packaging or even a special stand or something to signify this historic flight.

It is a bit,...less is more type of arrangement. But it does look very smart.

Rather like all the Qantas titles through the life of the airline on the fuselage.

Ill be waiting patently for the 1:200 version to grace our Hobby.

I wonder if Gemini or NG will tackle this model first?

We haven't seen many angles of the aircraft yet, but compared to the amazing special liveries Qantas has given us in the past I must say I find this somewhat.... underwhelming.

And this is why it disappoints a bit in my opinion, they tried to do something special but not too much and the result only comes off as half-baked. The red wave makes me think of Shanghai Airlines, meh.
If they weren't going to go with something bolder and more unique, i think it would have been better to simply slap the anniversary logos on top of their standard livery like KLM did.

The retro logos lineup is a great addition tho. I hope Qantas will do a full retro scheme on a 787 eventually.

NG will as they have zero licensing, that is the hold up with Gemini doing YAM models..

Inflight have also announced this livery.

Any comments or views on who has the best 787-9 tooling lads? Inflight or Gemini?
