Photo Appreciation Thread (All Things Aviation)

Here's a suggestion. Let's post as many high quality photographs of anything aviation related to inspire us and keep the interest in this hobby alive.

I would ask just a few caveats:

• Hi-res photos (1024x768 Minimum) Hint: If you find an image online that you feel would be awesome to submit but it doesn't meet the size requirement, do a reverse image search using Google Images. Examples below.

• Anything aviation related: Aircraft, Interior Seating, Flight Attendants/Crew, Ground Support Vehicles, Airports, Terminals, Signage (ex. LAX Sign/Advertisements/Vintage or Modern)

• Preferably color (If available; Obviously the older the era, the more difficult to source)

• Have fun!!!

Wow. Those interior shots are beautiful. I bet it lessens the anxiety of flying for many passengers.

Thanks for the kind words. I took them during my flight over last August. I have more to share if you wish, but I don't want to overload with Virgin Atlantic photos.

The mood lighting definitely helps with rest, relaxation and sleep. I think all airlines should adopt this on their long-haul aircraft.

Wow, the picture of Concorde is stunning!
Please forgive me, but I'm not entirely convinced that the plane was actually flying at Mach 2.0 speed, when the picture was taken!

Yes, for a brief moment the Concorde did slow down for the Tornado. Here's an interesting article about it:

This looks like it could be either a patch or a sticker (or both).

I wish I had had the opportunity to fly a DC-10 to compare it to the TriStar but no airline I flew had them in service. Well, except Delta but I always chose TriStar when I could on Delta.

In an interview with John Hutchinson (BA Concord pilot) he commented on this only picture of the airplane flying at the supersonic speed and he said that he has doubts about the authenticity of the picture.
I mean this guy was a Concorde pilot for about 15 years and he had doubts on the picture. Anyways, I don't want to comment on this any further.

I think it's a sticker because you can faintly make out the lines that separate the backing paper that makes it easier to pull off.

I don't think I can pick one? They are all nice. The BEA really stands out to me. The 744 red tail is also lovely. BA really nailed it when they went with this idea. It sure made a lot of people very happy.
