Officials: Engine fire forces Delta flight to London to turn back to Atlanta - Story | WAGA

Landed safe and no injuries. A lot of engine issues in recent times.

A GE CF6-80E1A4 this time. Seems the same aircraft was used to eventually fly the passengers to London. I'm curious what the issue was.

I'm not too sure what you mean by same aircraft was used?? one involved in the incident was N822NW and flight was cancelled...next day N814NW was used. It ingested a lot of foam into that engine! My guess it will be out of commission for a while.

If I'm reading flightradar24 correctly, it states N822NW departed 18 April and landed in London the next day at 11:26. N814NW was the aircraft used for the daily non-stop on 19 April.

That is incorrect sir! that was the original scheduled arrival but the return to ATL negated that data...that plane is out of commission for a while..
