Default Virgin Atlantic's new A330-200's

One of Virgin's three newly acquired ex Air Berlin A332 fleet, G-VMNK 'Daydream Believer' popped into Glasgow this afternoon from it's Manchester base for some crew training. I popped along with my camera to see it. Nice looking frame in this livery and hopefully we see it in 1:400 and 1:200 soon.

Slap a new coat of paint on it, it's still a used and abused Airbus. We just got a few ex-Monarch A320's wtih sharklets from Monarch and they are MEL-ridden piles of excrement.

Lovely airplane. I see that Jet2 also has the A330 now. Is that for high density or range? I would think destinations like Tenerife would be very popular.

It's for summer season capacity increase and leased (like last year) from the surplus Air Tanker Voyager fleet, operating in bare white with basic Jet2 decals. Thomas Cook have a similar arrangement in place and until last summer leased two examples from Air Tanker, one is a longish term lease fully liveried, and the other (G-VYGM) was plain white with basic decals, it's this year begun operating in a similar basic decaled scheme for Tui Belgium.

Yeah they are ex Air Berlin but Virgin have no need for brand new A330-200 fleet, these are only in place temporarily whilst 787-9 issues are resolved.

Beautiful aircraft. I absolutely LOVE Virgin Atlantic and wish I could work for them in some capacity.

Is that issue still unresolved? They were flying A346s in and out of SeaTac for a while several months ago, but have gone back to the B789.

It sure is. I think the Airbus fleet are great guys and gals covering for us 789 drivers. Not sure they see it that way though.

Thankfully, Virgin is still utilising B789s in and out of SeaTac. I flew to London last May in Upper Class in their B789 and it was amazing. Flying over again in August but in Premium Economy. I hope that class of service is nice.

Not sure the numbers still to be repaired but some 787-9 fleet are back in service and some yet to be dealt with. These are being subbed with A330-200 and A346 mainly, although I gather some 747-400 have been spotted back at Heathrow helping out on those routes too.

I would love to fly on one of their B744s, but it seems Virgin only utilises them in and out of Las Vegas and Orlando to LGW.

LGW, MAN, GLA and BFS too on those routes. Here's a pic down my local (GLA) the summer season starts again this weekend.

It's gorgeous! I really would like to fly on one before they are gone. But I don't want to fly to Vegas from Seattle and change planes just to do it.

G-VGAL kicked off this summer's GLA-MCO service this morning in gloomy Scottish weather. Currently winging her way to Floridean sunshine as I type.
