Deliveries starting in 2017. Qantas website Qantas.com has already been upgraded with new 2017 logo and below is the new livery. So the current livery didn't last long and it was for the new A380's delivered(2008 onwards) at the time was the reason of the next generation Roo current livery 2007 to 2016 ends today. The below info is direct from the source. Maybe all model manufactures might like to add this new Qantas artwork their tampo printing computer programs starting with VH-QPJ

I agree with you on the Kangaroos arms they should still be on the roo. Also the current livery was only introduced 9 years ago! Not even a decade old and changing again. Most A330's both 200and 300 have just been repainted to current livery. That said, the rest of the new livery I like though and there is one thing that I do love and that's the nod to the past of the Flying winged kangaroo in the circle under the Pilot & First officer positions with the aircraft's name underneath the in late 1960's to early 1980's style font. Remember the orange / ocher cheat line? This is a very nice touch. No other livery change has ever done a nod to past history. I also like the Qantas on the belly to help identifiy from the ground, although they could have just has a big red roo and everybody would know.
If you see my you tube links above in post #4 ,you will see the first one is of the painting of the aircraft VH-QPJ and you will see this aircraft's name is Port Stephens in the "old school" style of font used. This time lapse video is unreal ! Enjoy it

Would the average punter mistake it for another carrier when seeing a wrap around red tail so why the need for the underbelly wording, cues from Emirates. An insignificant kangaroo that has lost all resemblence to past history apart from the winged kangaroo on the fwd fuselage.Wonder what a Landor design could have come up with.
They still have 738s in the 1984 livery.
Change for the sake of change,it looks cheap and will date very quickly.Legacy of a departing CEO.
I am really glad they are going to be painting the QF logo on the wingtips of the 789, albeit only on the top surfaces apparently. Also to me it feels like the red 'roo on the engines gets a bit lost amongst the other technical markings. Maybe they should be painted a bit bigger.
Great thread Steve and agree we have been missing a metal 1:200 QF a330-300, old livery or new livery alike!
The new font gives a retro sort of feel, does not appear to stray from the fonts. The new roo definitely bears that new design style of this day and age. It looks swift, although, I do miss the detailed shape of the previous liveries, it feels adequate. I like the silver that is added. I like it.
Thanks for posting this picture, it makes for a great comparison.
The new scheme isn't a major difference, but for someone who hasn't see the famous kangaroo before, I think they would find it difficult to know exactly what it is, and that would be a shame.
All a bit dull and boring. Reminds me of those picture puzzles - "can you spot five differences between these pictures?" Same thing with the Qantas tweak - pretty much as before with a few minor detail changes evident upon close scrutiny.
