Default Air Canada 763 and A333 replacement by 787?

Hi everyone,

Wondering if some one knew when AC will replace the 767 based on YOW and YHZ with the 787 and also when the A333 will leave the fleet and be replaced by the 787?

They have got all of there 788 delivered but they are all based on YYZ and YVR but the 789 are starting to enter the fleet this summer and will be based at YYZ and YVR as well in the beginning, but when will these aircraft start to replace the 763 on YOW and YHZ?

And when will we see the A333 leave to make place for the 787?
By the way, is it possible that Air Canada Rouge will open a new base at one of
YOW or YHZ?

I don't think Air Canada will retire the 767 and the A333 both being amazing aircraft. I hope the 787 will not take over the fleet.

The 767 is going to Air Canada "Rouge" (with winglets added) as it is being replaced at the "Mainline" by the 787.

A330 is supposed to carry on, however since it will eventually be the only Airbus product (A319/A320/A321 being replaced by the 737 MAX starting next year) it could be replaced by 789s as an economy measure.

There are no Air Canada bases in YOW or YHZ. Only YYZ, YUL, YWG and YVR. I doubt you'll see any new bases anytime soon.

What equipment flies on a particular route is solely determined on market conditions and can change at any time.

Hi ACpilot, I appreciate the update on the direction where AC is going with the above airframes. I was about to email Mr. Ben Smith ( Correct me if I am wrong, but I think he's your Boss? )on the inquiry,! Met him a few years back and sold him some AC models at a show; he actually flew in from Montreal to collect some models for Mr. R.M ( I think you know who I am referring to) and also emailed Ben Smith a few times on certain models that were missing from his collection/fleet.

If you are wondering why Ben Smith had to fly in from Montreal to Toronto, I think he had some business tasks and I also informed Mr. R.M that there was no way I would be putting his 1/200 models in the mail to be sent over the pond! I don't think many folks would say 'no' to Mr. R.M, but he was cool when I told him about the consequences that could befall his models if it were put in the hands of the postal system. Cheers! T7

Most of the 767s will be moved over to Rouge whilst the oldest frames will slowly be phased out as the remaining 787s enter the fleet. The A333s should be around until at least 2018-2019. As for 777X, I have heard that AC is looking at the 778 but an order won't be placed soon.
