Default Last Flight for First Boeing 727

I wonder if you guys from the great state of Washington will be at Paine Field or Boeing Field International on Tuesday, March 1st. I read that the first Boeing 727 produced will make its last flight from Paine Field to Boeing Field for permanent display at the Museum of Flight. It would be a great photo/film opportunity for you lucky guys who attend. I'm planning to vacation in Washington this summer and will visit the Museum of Flight.

Attached is a photo dated 02/24/16 of the repainted 727.

Sigh. It is so sad to see such a great plane go. I used to see these freighters parked at YYZ, but now, I only see them like every other time I go. If anyone goes there, send me a video.

It has been said that this plane will take to the skies one last time after a 25-year restoration effort.

They've been working on every detail of this 727 for 25 years with the help of Boeing engineers for a 12 minute flight. I think it is airworthy...it's a Boeing.

They are not raising the gear, and are leaving the flaps at 15 degrees the whole flight,it is a true ferry flight ,I can't wait to see the video. My first jet was the 727, I was blessed to grace all 3 seats up front.

Assuming this occurs on Wednesday (they are saying it is going to be dependent on weather, and the forecast is for rain starting late this afternoon through the week), I'm hoping I'll be able to see it from my office window.

I'm curious when MoF will place it on display. I and my aviation buds here are anxious to tour it! The MoF offers free admission on the first Thursday of every month, but I don't think it'll be ready by Thursday.

Here's another story of the planned event:

The first Boeing 727 ever made will soon take its last flight

Ted, you've been inhaling too much fryer grease again.

This airplane has sat outside rotting for most of the 25 years it's been in Everett.

Okay. I think I solved my pic posting problem. In keeping with the thread topic; thought I would share 2 pics of my Phoenix UA B727-100 with the gentlemen on this thread. Cheers! T7

I've had the IF200 replica of N7001U on and off my want list for a while. I just don't like their mould.

Seems this will happen today. Or should I say, the weather is permitting.

I also don't like this Phoenix 727 mould, the Gemini 200 727 mould is the best there is so far with the IF 200 727 example being okay but still far behind the Gemini one...

I have pretty much each B727 mould (G200, IF200, Herpa, Phoenix) each mould has their plus and minus points. Cheers! T7 (Like they always say = to each their own; if you like it = buy it)

Cool. Much appreciated! Still holding. Great crowd watching in person. Nice video shots, panning in and out and getting some closeups.

Lovely take off and sweet to see it bank to the right as she climbed. Also, had an escort behind her.

I emailed them earlier today to find out when they expect to open up the aircraft to public tours. I'm so excited!

From a USA Today article: "The airplane will be open to the public for a brief period this coming weekend, says the Museum. It will then sit outside until the fall when it will be moved into a new indoor pavilion under construction."

If I get out to Museum of Flight this summer, I'll be happy that the plane is sitting outside. For such a large aircraft the outdoors usually provides plenty of room for taking pictures.

Takes me back to a time when flying was still exciting. My first trip as a F/A in training in uniform was aboard a 727-100 DFW-SDF-CVG-DFW. Thank you for sharing.
