That new livery is EXCELLENT!! Maintains the cherished Eskimo legacy and brings it into the 21st century ... the designers did an outstanding job!!

They were announcing this on tonight's local evening news. I like the new livery better than the previous. Very nice, indeed.

Yea...I really like it also. Like their current livery too, but this new one is really nice, love the mix of the colors.

Cannot wait for a Gemini 1/200 version. Hopefully they will do the -900.

I like the new livery a lot! I'm not a huge fan of the lime green thrown in there, but overall, it's a really solid design. Alaska's previous livery was nice, too.

I wonder why they bothered with the slight revision a few months back? Surely they already had plans for the complete redesign then.

On a semi-related note, does anyone know if Alaska's -700s are getting the split scimitar winglets?

I almost makes them look like to "low-cost" arm of Garuda Indonesia.

But it is not bad looking.

no doubt the unification of the vertical stablizer and rear fusleage art I believe was influenced by hawaiian and american doing the same thing.

Love it... a great example of a brand refresh keeping all the character of the previous brand... the 737 looks great in the livery really suits it well...

What she doesn't say in the video but she said during a local newscast is, as Alaska expands its routes (example: Hawaii), the airline wanted to evoke a slightly more tropical feel. Two of the new colors on the fuselage are called Tropical Blue and Tropical Green.

I only wish they had painted the engine nacelles a solid blue. I really don't care much for the swoosh on the rear of the engine nacelles.

White paint is probably less expensive than navy blue :roll eyes:

Also, I surely didn't realize they were operators of the CV-880!

I'm sure it is, but I assume they wanted to be "matchy-matchy" with the winglets and the vertical stab.

I like this new livery - particularly the color combination that Alaska selected for this livery. I am also glad they stuck with the Eskimo - this has become one of the most iconic symbols in the airline industry in my opinion.

I like it. With the additional surrounding color, I do wonder whether those not familiar with the brand will immediately recognize that Oliver is an eskimo and not just a happy old man.
