Well, another airline has phased out the B747. Long live the Queen of the Skies! You will be missed flying the AF colors! Cheers! T7

A sad moment, but that's how the trend goes. Long live the Queen of the skies.

I just stumbled across this video and HAD to share it ... all I can say is "turn UP your sound volume on your computer or smartphone ... and enjoy some of the finest air-to-air footage you'll ever see ..."

This is an excellent piece of videography by the Air France team ... and along with the majestic background track ... simply MAGNIFIQUE!!!

Thanks Mariner One,

I was busy cooking instant noodles, stumbled across your video, and by the time I watched it & shed a tear, my noodles were burnt.

It used to come to YYZ last summer and fall, now it is a 777. I don't like how the 777 is replacing one of the most iconic airliners of all time. Thank you for sharing!

The 777 will be replaced sometime in the future too. As you get older, you notice your old faves being replaced like on a cycle, as well as airlines & their liveries. Mine was A340, it still seems like a new airframe to me (Air Canada had them in service from mid-90's till mid-2000's). Also the 727-100 prototype first flew the day before I was born, and now it's making its final journey after 53 years. Wish I could be there to see it happen.
