That video has more dislikes then likes.... I hope that sends a clear message to CX about changing their livery

At first I thought, OMG they went euro white but you can barely see the old greenish bar... It's like their knew you don't go full retard lol

Sucks to be a CX fleet collectors right about now...

Nothing wrong with that livery.

This new livery is not bad at all but it would be a nice touch if perhaps Cathay Pacific would also put their name in Chinese Characters to reflect the Chinese heritage... ;)

I know how you feel & I also don't like the Euro white livery at all but it's really not that bad looking, at least it's much better than China Eastern or even EVA Air... ;)

Interesting fact: although CX is the largest airline of Hong Kong, it was founded by an Australian and an American (in 1946)!

What a shame... suppose it will grow over time but I'm left feeling a little underwhelmed by the new livery

Exactly the same feelings here.. I catch myself with better new liveries saying: It could have been worse, but the times when I thought: Wow, that's a smart new livery have been gone since years..

More and more i think that AA did an excellent job within Oneworld..

Totally lame design. The tail isn't bad and could fit into the scheme but the fuselage and logo just look like the designer did a 1 day job.

Re: Cathay Pacific - New Livery Launch

didn't the guy in the vid say something about heritage of CX? ....there is really NOTHING iconic about this bland colormix - not to speak about the good old days which should've been reflected in the livery somehow when they want people to recognize CXs heritage.

honestly - how boring is this livery, and how many airlines have birds on their tail.... totally mainstreamish.

I like it... looks fresh

Isn't that the same as the old one except the removed the dark green stripe at the nose and added a green brush stroke?

Re: Cathay Pacific - New Livery Launch

I like the old one much better...

What a waste of time. Incredible to think people are being paid to produce that. Unimaginative, lazy and follows the crowd.

It's definitely a pretty refreshing update and I quite like it, however when compared to the update that say Etihad has done, this is rather lacking. But this does match what CX is attempting to do with the brand and that is modernity & efficiency.

ok, i don't get it..
same fonts, just erasing all the green and red color from the fuselage.. and this thing is cost billions of dollars for what so called re-branding program?
those consultants really know how to milk the airlines..

i might say, these kind of bland liveries will eventually kill diecast collection..

You have two very good points there!

It's okay, I guess. I wish the tint on the fuselage and engine nacelles was slightly darker. Once the paint begins to fade you won't be able to see it very well.

I think they spent more time and effort into making the youtube video than on the livery :-)

The 1/200 models made by Hogan are already on sale at CX City.

I noticed a few sitting on the ticket sales desk at YVR yesterday when passing through. Not for sale obviously.

Re: Cathay Pacific - New Livery Launch

Everyone is saying that the livery is Euro white. My eyes may be playing tricks but I see that the entire fuselage has a greenish tinge (similar to what the stripe used to be). If this is the case, I am a fan of this livery. It's unfortunate that it loses character, but if the fuselage does in fact have a green tinge, it could look really cool.

EDIT: Whoops, I see now that the new livery just has the same light green stripe (on a white fuselage) as the old livery. I take back what I said above, I don't like anything about this change.
