Yes Terence I saw this on facebook today as well. Shame it's not a 747-400 though. In light of the popularity of the first Retro 737-838 VH-XZP (highly photographed) now used in long haul flights plus domestic flights another 737-838 Retro will be painted in Townsville Queensland to mark Qantas 95th Birthday. VH-VXQ (still in the delivery old Roo colours) Hopefully and most likely V-jet livery. That's a very hot inside tip for the rego too by the way. Personally, I would rather prefer 95th decals (just like KLM did for the fleet) and as Qantas did on the whole fleet in 1995 with the 75th logos. Not forgetting James Strong the then CEO also approved Wunala Dreaming 747-400 to join Nalanji' Dreaming for the 75th Birthday. This clearly is the cheapest way to celebrate the 95th birthday so lets just bring it on and embrace it! Nothing against Alan Joyce running Qantas, who will line his pockets with a few million dollars when he goes! At least we got something for the 95th! Thanks Alan for not going to too much trouble Oi Oi Oi!

Hey Steve,

Now that you mention it, it would have been awesome for the livery to be on a B744 (or an A380), but will take whatever we can get.

I googled the 738 in V-Jet livery and came up with this. Not bad...!

PS Thanks for the tip on the rego.

[QUOTE=TerenceW;1543378]Hey Steve,

PS Thanks for the tip on the rego.

You are welcome Terence, follow on facebook if you want to to find my source Historic Australian Aircraft and the link to the rego came from here The aircraft which is to be painted is apparently VH-VXQ This livery is what we can expect also came from this link. It does look good paying homage to the 707
Forget the the A380. Should be on a 747-438 though, but will I also will take whatever we can get too.

The best bet is now the V-Jet livery I guess and the official announcement will be made on 16Nov according to the latest company news....

The 737 is so long these days that it looks almost like a 707-320 with 2 engines ... very handsome plane indeed ... long live the modern version of the 707 Intercontinental!

another great livery wasted on an aircraft we'll never see in our skies....
why they did not put it on their 380?

Would much rather a retro livery 744, however I'm not complaining too much. The more special liveries, the better.

Somehow I think a 744 will be done in Retro 70 livery, and safe bet adorning a 95 sticker as well, would be fitting that a747 wear the delivery 747 scheme. Chances are it will happen

Fantastic looking 744 and 748 Tiger320! Hope it will happen one day with a real 744, before they are all retired.
