Default AIR NORTH - New Livery and New Jets

Air North just added another two Boeing 737-500s to their fleet. The first of the two to enter operation is sporting their new revised livery. Here are a few quick snapshots of C-GANU at YVR today. What do you think?

Looks OK. Not a massive overhaul, just a little tinkering.

Yeah, it's more of an "update." A "revised livery" if you will. Here's the jet it's replacing.

It's ok, not much of a change. I kind of prefer the old look for some reason.
Our 732's are disappearing now across Canada First Air is a less common site now that they've acquired -400's.

Fond memories of YVR when it was B737-200 galore. CP Air,Frontier,PWA,United, and Western. I'm sure I have missed a few? Right,I think AirCal had the B732 here before AA took over.

C-FJLB will be retired this year, but C-GANV remains part of Air North's fleet for now. Canadian North still flies charters with their 732s into YVR fairly regularly.

Kitty Hawk, the more recent 732s that I recall are the brightly painted ZIP planes that served as Air Canada's budget carrier. Additionally - Canada 3000, Royal, CanJet, Tango, WestJet, Canadian, Air Canada, and Continental all flew the 732 here if memory serves me. The only ones I see now are Air North and Canadian North. First Air has made VERY rare appearances.

Want to see 732's regularly, just come to YEG and you won't be disappointed. I get more of a charge out of seeing the 733W's or 734's now being used by the likes of Air North & Canadian North. Do miss the First Air 727's dearly tho

In Vancouver, the 06:25 am Delta B727-200 to LAX was my alarm clock. Tea cups would rattle.

Canadian North says they will likely always operates their 732's for the foreseeable future because no other aircraft is well suited like the 732 for gravel strops.

As engines get bigger, gravel runways become less and less feasible

Pretty sure that's why Air North is holding on to C-GANV as well. First Air still has some 732s too. They're workhorses of the north.
