Emirates replaces their B77W fleet of 90 active and 61 on order with 150 B77X starting around 2020 + X - that makes the B77X an EK exclusive for years beside the 34 LH orders!! With the 50 QR orders and 25 for EY, the next slots for the 'rest of the world' are not #35 - it's slot #260 and ~2030 now.. Other airlines must be really pissed and congrats to LH - now that move starts to make sense.. The rumors that the US government had to guarantee the UAE not to interfere in their domestic politics as a part of this order/deal as a bonus for this region shows how they act - money rules the world..

Emirates has ~400 widebodies on firm order in addition to their ~200 widebodies containing B77W, B77X, over 100 A388 on order () and A350s.. I am curious to see the impact on the whole industrie when EK has its fleet of the planned 500 widebodies ~2030 with 400-500 seats each..

Attachment 88485I take it Boeing has frozen the design on this, since this is what they are selling at the Airshow? If so, what an awesome looking piece of machinery this will be!

I am really amazed how these airlines are paying for all these orders and so many aircraft. I mean surely Ek ordering 150 next gen 777's with so many other aircraft on order, A380's/350's/777's etc....and with yields lower due to over-capacity... i really wonder how these carriers do it.
Yes I know its paid for by oil but still!

aero.de - Luftfahrt-Nachrichten und -Community

https://leehamnews.wordpress.com/tag/a350-1100/

A350 XWB News: Airbus has time to decide whether it wants to launch the A350-1100 against the 777-9X. Because the first target is to avoid any indication of doubt about the A350-1000´s competitive position

Airbus rethinks A350-1100 to rival against B777-9X...

IF the A3511 is going to be built, does that mean Boeing will also stretch the -9X once again? ....and if they do so will the 80m lenght limit be history? i mean assuming the 3511 will be 80m long, Boeing has to go beyond that.

I doubt the A350 gets further stretched.

I absolutely love Boeing's next-gen aircraft (747-8, 787, 777X, etc.). They truly look like futuristic versions of contemporary aircraft. So graceful and iconic with their upturned wings and newly designed engine pods. It's very tempting to stray from my theme of classics and get some of these.

The coolest part about this is that they are wanting to assemble it in St. Louis, Missouri! Close enough to me to take a trip to the factory of it happens!

Very interesting. St. Louis is only about a 4 hr drive from me. I may consider a trip if that actually happens.
