I've grown to like them. They are more impressive in person than in pictures.. noticeably bigger than a 767-300.

I also like the small blinking lights on the wingtips (and a couple other spots I can't recall). Something kind of cool about that..

I don't like the shape of -not bad but not very appealing.
Since I have never either seen one in action or flown on one from that point of view,I

Not sure, Guinness as a Stout isn't too bad. But I do prefer some other smaller brands too. Also had this Milk Stout once. Went down as your run of the mill stout, but totally had the aftertaste of a glass of milk.

As for the 787, I think it'll be a promising airframe. I do wish we'd see some of those awesome schemes from the 1980s and 1990s on them though. For example, the new LOT scheme is such an incomplete mess. Every time I see a photo of one, I'm tempted to ask if anyone has some dark blue paint and would like to make a trip to finish painting it! I remember the old model that Dragon released when the aircraft was still a paper plane known as the 7E7. I'll need to hunt me that one done, as in my opinion that's how it should have come out...

Will say it was an engineering nightmare from what I've been told and what I see. One classmate of mine has a father who worked as a consultant for Boeing. He told me that they had to redesign so many parts over and over again, they eventually ran out of placeholders for their part designations for that part (I think the landing light assembly was the part that was mentioned to me.)

So overall, I'm neutral on it, as it does look like the future of aircraft (though let's be honest, almost every airliner is starting to look like that these days), but what should be early teething issues has me a little uneasy.

Oh put me down for a pint glass with 75% stout and 25% lemonade.
In Oz is called a Portagaff. Mmmm.

Now to the 788 - nope.
789 - better by far.
78-10 - dog's butt.

Okay,

All those who have made smart alec comments, remove them in the next 12 hours or you'll be facing a 3 day suspension. What you are doing is cyber bulling. I've had enough of this. If you don't like the questions being asked, ignore them and the poster. But to continually post disparagingly and plainly offensive remarks and/or complaining about the behaviour and then clearly going off-topic... and then behaving far worse then the original poster... It's not on.

We have one 12yo member who is clearly behaving far more grown-up then many of the adults here. So he's excited to be here, is that any reason to show so much dislike for him? To cyber bully and treat him this way...?

If your answer is YES then sadly you're going to be suspended... simple as that. Grow-up... and that's not pointed at Gimala.

Lou

OK. I Don't Think My Comments were Cyber Bullying Or Smart Alec, Or At Least That's Not My Intent, Just Trying To Set The Kid Straight, But I'll Remove Them. I Think He Got The Message.
But Thanks For Clearing The Air.

Thumbs up Re: Do you like the 787?

As I've mentioned elsewhere on DA.C, yes, I do like the looks and style of 787-8 very much. I think it is a refreshing 'evolutionary' change to the litany of 767/777 and A320/A330/A340 look-a-likes we've endured over the last 15-20 some-odd years.

If the 787 does one thing alone, I hope it is inspire other airliner designers to open up their imagination and provide us with some cool stuff to look at the next time we're stuck in the airport waiting lounge with another delay. The challenge is ON!

Meanwhile, as I like the proportions of the 787-8 very much, I'm sure the 787-9 and -10 will be rather interesting too.

This is a beautiful aircraft that looks different from any other Boeing aircraft. I think that I prefer the B789 and B78X better.
