Default 787-9 Dreamliner

More Dreamliners are coming, and a new livery as well.

I'm excited for these new planes!

Looks great, far better proportioned than the original 787-8 I think.

Looks great and I can't wait until the first flight. By the way, is it just me, or did it not yet have a registration number on it?

Cool Re: 787-9 Dreamliner

I absolutely love the look of these 787s. Sooooo elegant. I can't wait until I can get to fly on one of these to Paris (AC880/881).

Anyhow, I guess I'm the 'contrarian' of the forum, as I actually prefer the look 787-8s. Who knows . . . it is still early days, so minds can change.

I followed the development of the 787 since the beginning, there are a lot of people that don't like it, but I have always liked it (hence my user name.) lol. I do like this new livery though,

I have followed it since the beginning as well. Fascinating. I also had to pick up the hardcover book that features N787BA in glorious photographic detail. Complements my Phoenix 'N787BA' quite well.

I wonder if a handful of airlines regret getting the 8 series and wished they got a 9 series instead. Its kinda like getting apple products. Gorgeous airplane the 787-9.

It would be cool if airlines like Qantas, Singapore and the now United Airlines give them special liveries like the Wunala Dreaming, Tropical, and Peter Max liveries.

I've kind of wondered that as well. But then, I suspect the aircraft are bought by specs, and the airlines must be aware of the future options. I know Air Canada ordered a wack of 787-8's and 787-9's. My guess is they are to replace aging 767's and 777's. Natch the 787-8's will arrive here first.

Nobody is talking (except Boeing) about the 787-10's?

Forcryingoutloud, don't get me going on Apple products . . .

I'm sure in the future a few enterprising airlines will see these as one giant canvas to expression their difference.

Sadly Qantas transferred their orders for 787-9s to options last year. Can't understand why they did that too considering that they would fit perfectly on some of the lower yielding international routes...

I like the whole comparison to Apple Products. . I have an iPhone...and there is always something new coming out.

The 787-10 will be even cooler...though might look un-proportional? I just like that the Dreamliner selection is growing!

If you have been using their products for the number of years as I have (since 1993), you'll get tired of it too.

Me too. I also like the idea that Boeing has such confidence in their creation. I sincerely hope it all goes to plan, as it IS such a lovely looking airframe.

Almost can't tell between the -8's first flight and the -9's ... the weather was almost the same too!

Here's the 787-8 First Flight video by Boeing - some great air-to-air videography too!

Great news. Wishing Boeing's new baby all the success in the world. The stretch of only twenty feet makes the 87 an even more elegant presence.

OT'ish: BA has ordered the -1000.
