Default Speedbird 787 arrives at LHR

The first BA 787 delivery flight was supposed to be yesterday but got cancelled till today and I was there. Also here are a few more 787's and some others.

Everyone waiting for the BA 787, the numbers grew as the arrival time got closer:

And finally BAW787/G-ZBJB arrived around 12pm:

Next Thursday hopefully will be the delivery of the first BA A380.

Fantastic, thanks!!

I'll need to get back down there again to see them and, of course, Concorde in its new position!

Great photos, wish I'd had time to get to Myrtle Avenue for some of the same, I was in LHR last week, too early, lol. But as luck would have it, BA have invited me down next week to do some filming in and around the new 787's and A380 which is due on July 4th. Can't wait !

Awesome pics thanx for sharing. Were most of the photographers spotters or press? It would be nice if it was a bunch of spotters enjoying the pass time..

The 787 is by far Boeing's ugliest and most controversial plane. I really don't understand why almost everyone here goes crazy when an airlines introduces this late starter. There's more positive news and input here about the 787 than the new A350 (ugly as well). BA's latest newcomers? Thumbs down.

I'm sure you'll live!

If there is one type of plane that I have genuinely always thought looked utterly stupid, it is the '757 (its those cockpit windows that always somehow look too big and out of proportion. Also along with certain other types, the nose looks a bit crap), and quite frankly, I wont miss them. The DC10s are another type I have never liked - the engine (and tail) always looks like its about to topple off the back of the daft looking things .

The '787 and the A350 though, these are designs that hark back to the days of old (planes like the Comet, the Caravelle and the VC10) with their swept back lines and those lovely graceful wings! I personally like them!

You'd soon get fed up of the constant stream of BA A319/320/321's that make up most of the movements at LHR.

You took the words right out of my mouth. There are times when its an endless like of BA narrowbodies one after the other. My focus is on the heavies and foreign airlines only but today is Sunday, the Sun is out and bright and I'm off.

I watched the Azerbeijan and the DHL begin their approach over Essex last night, 2 fairly rare visitors, amongst the usual suspects!

What will be the 787s flight plan over the next week? I hope to see it from my office in Windsor
