Magnificent aircraft and long may she continue. A 747 never fails to turn my head, especially on those occasions we are graced with a service or diversion to GLA. It's a shame her days appear to be numbered now...

not the 400 but a 747 nevertheless she is the type of ac that bought my family to north america..i was about 14 yrs old when we flew on one of the last flight of Pan Am's china clipper class 2....

Timeless design....
Saw a 748F owned by CX today fly over me and it was nice to see the airframe still flies as a new aircraft.

Shame you QF for not giving her a go!!!

Me too. I remember being on the flight line at Everett in the early 1990's with my father and seeing a lineup of *brand new* 747-400's.

The 747 is still, IMHO, the most majestic of the 'heavies'.
