Default Turkish Airlines new campaign

Thought this was a great ad:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lpCjspeUYY

Turkish Airlines now flies to more countries worldwide than any other airline (91 in total and growing - on their own metal), and to celebrate they've released this campaign featuring an amalgamation of the Turkish national anthem performed in the style of traditional music from several of their destinations.

Really impressed with how rapidly they're expanding in to Africa also!

Turkish Airlines is growing way too fast, the carrier will not be able to stand this! THY's operating income and their net income keeps on decreasing for the last three years dramatically! Their tonns of campaigns with ManU, Barca, Caroline Wozniaki, Kobe Bryant and so many more won't change that fact!

None of this is true.

I can understand them growing fast as they benefit from there good links to both Europe and Asia and they have been trying to become the next Emirates.

What I can't understand with Turkish is to be a successful carrier they meet to harmonise there fleet. They operate both Boeing 737's and A320 family on there short haul network. Anyone and everyone knows that the short haul market is a cut groat business so why have two sets of crews when you can operate with just one!

I wouldn't compare TK to any of the gulf carriers to be honest, especially EK. TK has an enormous domestic market which accounts for nearly half of the passengers they carry annually, whereas gulf carriers operate mostly long haul international and regional flights.

Politics, economies of scale (they have a sizable number of both A320s and 737NGs to warrant having two types), and aircraft availability all come in to play in having a mixed fleet of narrow bodies. It's no secret that TK purchase aircraft based on a political agenda, but at the end of the day it's a business that is there to make money.

The one thing hampering their growth is IST airport... It's almost at capacity, and a new airport is still many years away.
