Post planespotting petition?

I highly doubt anyone will read or let alone sign this, but I think most of us of us have gone to the airport and watched the planes. But I also know that most of us who have gone to see the planes have received those weird looks from other people and have been confronted by police and been asked to leave the property. That's why CAPlanespotting made this video (SUPPORT OUR RIGHT TO PLANE SPOT! - YouTube). He inspired me to make a petition after all the points he made.

Again, I highly doubt any of you will sign the petition and even more doubt homeland will change their policies, but hey, what can I lose?

Signed!

At several of the major airports in Britain schemes have been introduced to utilise the regular spotters as resources against unusual and illegal activities (not just terrorism) around the airport. After registering and background checks, an id card is issued so that any police officer knows you are one of the 'good guys'.
I started plane spotting over 50 yrs ago and I credit that with leading me into a successful and rewarding career in the airlines spanning almost 40yrs. With airports providing less and less facilities for people with an interest in aviation, how are kids today going to get the bug and help keep up the supply of motivated and enthusiastic employees in the ever expanding world of aviation.

I`m lucky, security doesn`t bother you at YVR unless your doing something really stupid like flying a kite next to the runway or climbing on the fence

I registered with Gatwick police and have an ID card they gratefull for the extra pair of eyes looking out for unusual activity as well as letting me plane spot in peace. It does not give you any privileges at all. Those near Gatwick would like to do the same the form to complete is linked below. You need passport pictures to send with it.
