Default A message to Virgin Atlantic

While your enthusiasm and love of this hobby is to be congratulated, I can't stand to download another one of your damned aircraft "what-ifs".

Not only do they all look pretty much the same (with just a few color changes here and there), they are also all stored in BMP format, which means the image has to be downloaded to our PCs in order for us to view them (or atleast, we can't just see them on the page in DAC).

Can you PLEASE try and change the format of your pics. Not only is viewing a BMP image more difficult than viewing a .jpg or .gif, a BMP image is also MANY times larger in terms of file size than either of the other two formats.

Each of your aircraft images is nearing 1MB in size, compared to perhaps 100K for a JPG image. Your pictures are a drain on the DAC resources...... Boooo.

Default SICK AND TIRED!

Eddy,

If you don't like his work, don't download it. Why squash someone's imagination or attempt at creativity? Were you abused as a child or taught that one way is the only way?

I'm frankly sick and tired of people on this forum giving criticism that is not valid, constructive or thoughtful. Maybe Virgin Atlantic doesn't know how to save as a jpeg, or maybe he thinks his ideas are nice, but does that mean you have to attack him by saying, "I can't stand to download another one of your damned aircraft "what-ifs"."n,

Your comments and the comments from others are immature and lend only to an environment where creativity is muted. While I may or may not like some of his designs, I applaud him on his effort and interesting take on airline liveries.

In terms of size, rather than yell at him for using BMP's, why not try and educate him on saving as a jpeg and posting within the post?

And for the record, Eddy, his images are not a drain on DAC's resources, your comments and positioning however, are.

-G

Actually i feel uncomfortable and disappointed about this page because some people here are not giving positive feedback but only negative complain.
You must know that not everyone here is a graphic designer, some of them are only teenages or even kids. What you say, what you write is just discourage other people to improve or even discourage them to think, to design, to post their work here~~~
Finally, you will only see the aircraft/picture/photo you want to see, that's up to your standard, but with no more fun.
I wish... flying/aeroplane can be a dream for everyone but not only for those "professional".

I download his stuff because I enjoy his stuff. At no point did I suggest that I didn't like it - I metely pointed out that most of it looks largely the same..... A little expansion on the imagination wouldn't go a miss here.

Please also pay attention to the fact that I applaud his enthusiasm - and I clearly stated that at the start of my post.

May I suggest that you pull your thumb outta your arse and try to realise when someone IS actually offering constructive criticism, though in a way that doesn't involve any mincing of words. We're all mature enough here to take things with a pinch of salt.

Virgin Atlantic... Nevermind those losers. Many of us enjoy your work. You have contributed a lot, especially the "What if???" forum. I know that you spend much time on them liveries, and you should be recognized. Thank you.

Arrow I don't mind!

However a format like .jpg is better for viewing and size of files. I do Graphic Design. Was joking of your name since you do act virgin in the territory of design and file format. But do as you want! I guess many will miss out.

I agree that for size and viewing, .jpeg is better... but VS uses MSPaint. If he did convert it into .jpeg, the work would have been fu(ked up.

I don't use MS Paint but I do agree about viewing problems with format changes. Thanks for the info.

Now, now. Off you go. I hear a group of recently released inmates from the State Pen heard about your love of Buggers and have come around to "butter your bread".

Dear Mr. Virgin:

I know what it's like to be verbally assaulted, too. People can be so mean. They just don't understand beings like us so they get all mean and attack and make fun of us. I hate them for that. I think that you and Mr. 253@350 and I should start our own club and say to hell with those guys. We could watch planes and stuff. Maybe have some pudding. I could invite my friend Mr. Dave Morgan, too. He's cool, you'd like him. Don't think that everyone in DAC is mean. I'm here to tell you I think you're super and so is your artwork.
