The Boeing competition is already in the works, as you can see from this B-774-400er. The aircraft has a slightly winder wing span as well as front and rear cabin plugs. Perhaps we'll see something like it someday.

it really does look like an A346...w/ 772 engines. it reminds me of how the USSR copied US planes (like the Tu-4, a B-29 exact copy)
