Default Comet 5

In the late 60´s De Havilland proposed a new version of the Comet with new wings and tail.
Here´s one in the old BEA colors.

Didn't the built-in engines cause a lot of problems with wiring, etc.? Still, they looked so cool.

What a tragedy these were never made!! I'm a huge Comet fan, it was a very elegant design, although mounting the engines in the wing roots was a little impracticle for maintenance compared to the more usual way of mounting under the wings, it was so much more visually pleasing IMO. I'd love to see that design in UAT Aeromaritime livery, thanks for posting these!

Here´s the Comet in the UAT Aeromaritime Livery. I used the livery from the Comet 1.

Thumbs up

Hi Tupolev, thanks for such a great image!! The UAT Aeromaritime livery was a beautiful livery and the nicest livery carried by the Comet family IMO. I just wish we could see a model of the Comet 1A in this livery.... Thanks again!
