Alex, excellent photos! Looks like it was an excellent show. One day I'll make the trek (or fly) down to Avalon to experience the full-on Aussie International Airshow!

Looks like there was a lot more going on than at the RAAF 85th Anniversary Airshow at Richmond AFB last year.

Abraxas: you should realy go to the 09 airshow.
if you can, get a direct flight from Sydney down to Avalon airport (via Jetstar). ground staff have a shuttle bus going from the arrivals to the action, i think. Its not only the airshow there is a very large tent on a very very large hellipad (of what it looks like),also there is a avators market with evry thing you could ever want

Thanks Alex, yeah JetStar would be a great option, and with the whole aviator's market etc it'll be a dream! Hell, I might even have my own pilot's license by then though so I could attempt the trek myself lol

Will definitely put Avalon '09 in the diary.

Great pics, Alex and thanks for sharing! Just love the Aardvark doing the 'dump & burn'! It will much cooler if it was a night shot!

I was there on the friday and the weather was terrible. Hot, high winds and dust and some more dust.

Adelaide is hosting the RAAF airshow at RAAF Base Edinburgh over two days - 27 and 28 October.
Both days will cover flying displays and static a/c.

Basically all the RAAF mainline fleet come to the party.

Went back in 2002 and it was great.

Will post pics once the event is complete. I'll be there both days.

Alex,
The link is at work. I'll dig it out tomorrow and post for you.
What about JQ from Launceston to MEL to ADL. I understand the problem about 2 sectors instead of direct.
Let me see what I can find out for you.
Tim
