Indeed hotel room for Sheraton (the Show location) is sold out, but there is an over-flow hotel at Court Yard by Marriott available for the same rate. here is the link: http://marriott.com/property/propert...B&app=resvlink

Keep in mind there is still inexpensive accommodation available for AI2006. $89 per night for DC is pretty darn good deal. Hope this helps.

Hang on; what's this all about? Can someone PM me the details? This is the first I've heard about the show. Where's it going to be, and when?

Default Just got my reservations at the stand by hotel - Marriott Courtyard, Tysons Corner

I just confirmed my reservation at the Marriott for Friday night and I am at the Sheraton on Thursday and Saturday, gee they ran out of room even with a confirmation. They would not do anything, they said "sorry"
To you guys who are going, see you there.
I'm bringing the kids so that shoudl be even more fun.
Leaving the wife at home though.

Make you register for Thursdy, so you can get in. Thursday is only open for registered guest. A "goodie bag" is provided to registered guest. Friday and Saturday are open to public. As I mentioned in another hread, most of good stuff are traded and exchanged on Thursday. Hope this helps.

Default Any suggestions?

I plan to drive down for one day and return same day, thought Saturday best, for me it's a 5 hour drive from Long Island and traffic is light. Will there be nothing but empty tables by then? If hotel has a room may stay Sat night, daughter is getting married July 13 so I will already be out of time, but would like to meet some people in the hobby so I will try to squeeze this in somehow.

If you could I recomend that you get into the show first thing in the morning Saturday. It slows down after mid day as vendor start to getting antsy and start to pack up. Nevertheless, that is the great time to find some bargain. There will be quite a few diecast dealers there plus more for other stuffs. I hope some of Japanese collectors would show up to bring in something interesting. You never know.........

Only "registered guest" is allowed to be in the show on Thursday. Friday & Saturday are open to publics. You may refer to: www.ai2006.com and click "registration" in the bottom of the page for detail.

Default washington dc show

Just held a flight from Detroit to Washington, for Saturday the 8th. In the morning, out the afternoon.

I need some help here guys. I've only been to one Airliners show in my life- the one in Columbus a few years back. Is it worth coming in from Detroit for just the one day or is this just crazy? I can get a flight for a couple of hundred bucks - it's cheaper than driving. I'm primarily interested in 200 scale and all larger model scales. Is Saturday too late to come in, in that will there still be dealers and stock there? Any help would be appreciated as pickings for a show anywhere near Detroit is thin. Thanks

i think its worth it because it is the largest airliners show. i think it is better to come on on thursday or friday but saturday is good to. i think on saturday some dealers would leave but most of them would stay to make more money.
