Hi crownvic,

I will be attending the convention and have already reserved a room from the 3rd through the 9th. I will also be a vendor for the first time with tables J34 and J35 in the Junior Ballroom. Steven Morgan is doing a great job in looking out for everyone who registers. He has arranged a number of field trips and activities to begin early in the week. This will give all of us a chance to take in everything offered. See you there.

Default Airliners 2006/Washington

Hello fellow modellers! I would really like to come this year. I usually travel to Washington every year for a religious pilgrimage, but this show looks to be a real winner that I would like to come for the event. I was at the 2005 show in Milwaukee and was dissapointed with the turnout but enjoyed seeing Oskosh and the airplane model contests.

If I go I hope there will be a huge turnout of enthusiasts who will bring their built models! There were some really excellent ones in Milwaukee but after seeing photos of recent shows in the years past, some have had contests with a huge number of entries, that's what I hope to see. I build Hasegawa 1/200 scale kits and would love to join those who have built the same kits of various airlines in modelling contests and see the modelling experience the others have. The Hasegawa 747 kits I noticed at these shows tend to be the "blue ribbon" of 1/200 airliner kits built by the most experienced modellers. I'm sure some might think differently but that's okay I'm open to hearing of experiences of those who build the Hasegawa, Revell and other brand kits.

Airfares don't look too bad right now but its a bit too early to plan, but I'm tempted to come anyway! Again, hope to see some more airliner kits this year! Anyone else going this year?

I have the same feeling that this show is going to be a winner. Although I attended L.A. 2004, I missed the one in Milwaukee because of other travels. Based on yours and other reports, I'm glad I missed it. I'd like to see a huge number of model entries this year. Hope to see you there.

Okay - where is it? I get the date, and can't imagine why I wouldn't be in town (yeah, NoVa...) but I haven't heard anything about this. Last show I went to was in 99.....

I'm gonna go! Now I need to go through my airliner junk and find my lanyard from the '84 show. It was the first airliner show I ever went to...I'll be glad to go back.

Default 2006 airliners show

Sorry guys! I just remembered I have to do photography at a wedding on that very weekend! Arrrgh! Maybe I can fly up on Thursday and leave Friday night. Can anyone recommend another show that will be taking place this year that has a large crowd?

Very cool. I liked your post of Eastern's Connies and DC-3 diorama. I just couldn't help but joke about CLE757's question regarding the tower.
