I have only the seaplane, which is a Beriev MBR-2. It scales out at 1:72. Mine is in blue-green, with red water line. I recall that there was another color available as well.
I didn't know there was a MiG-15. That's very interesting. I haven't seen any of these around for a few years. Danny Samuels Last edited by samu990; 11-12-2001 at 08:22 PM. |

I have a Yak-3, excellent quality, I bought at the Stormville flea mkt last summer for $8! The overall quality is excellent. I have seen it offered for much more, so I bought it at this relatively good price.
No manufacturer's name on box.

I know very well these models because I have imported them from USSR (it was in 1989,during Gorbatchev perestroika).
The list is good with 4 fighters (YAK 3,Lavochkin LA5,Polikarpov I.16 & Polikarpov I.153 biplane),1 bomber Illyushin IL2 stormovik and 1 sea-plane BERIEV MBR2.These models came from Engels. The beautiful MIG 15 ,in cardboxe or in perpex dome, came from Kirov and an other very interesting serie in 1/120 scale came from Kazan. This last serie includes : Lavochkin LA5 fighter,Sukkoi SU 7 jet fighter,YAK 25 twin jet fighter and a very scarce Sukkoi SU 15 twin jet fighter. I have all these models in stock for selling or exchange, except the Mig 15 and the SU 15. Perhaps some pictures of these very interesting models soon for you. A bientot. Philippe GARREAU. |

Hot damn!
I suppose IXO is another one of those companies who claim "historical authenticity" of their models while omitting the swastika on German WWII planes in a drooling fit of political correctness. Really, the red star is at least as offensive as the swastika -- Stalin's government alone systematically murdered more innocents than Hitler's government ever did. |

Umm, ok, I hate to tell you this, but the modern Russian airforce still use the Red Star as their insignia, also there were other leaders of Soviet Russia than Nazi Germany, I do think that not putting the Swastika on a model aircraft and selling it as "historically correct" is a bit rediculous, but then again, how many people know that Stalin's government killed more than Hitler's (about 20 million more) but then again, the Red Star is a symbol of Communism, not just One person's government, and yes I do know that the Swastika has diffrent meanings in diffrent parts of the world.

Come on guys, this swastika, no swastika thing has been beat to death. Some companies just aren't going to make WWII German planes with them so let's just get over it and move on. I'd also love to see the swastika added for historical accuracy and I'd like to win a million dollars. I won't be getting either so move on and buy some decals and do it yourself. These companies aren't going to change just for us.
If you are interested in looking at the IXO planes try this link. Now before you go ballistic, they have mislabelled some of the planes on the site. However I'm quite sure you will know which picture goes with which name. IXO From all reports on another forum, they aren't half bad and when you consider they are the only company making some of these planes they become very acceptable, with or without swastikas. |

Hey, lighten up -- I'm new here! :-)
I suppose the red star is more akin to the cross the Germans still use to this day, I believe, than the swastika. But since all of this silliness is based on people's perceptions of things, if the red star offends me, then strike it from the models! The lowest common denominator must restrict everyone else! (BTW, I am merely making a point; I am not offended by the red star). Anyway, this seems better than the IXO website: http://www.altaya.fr/ficha.php?id=101 I want that Russian plane: http://www.altaya.fr/ficha.php?id=101&pagina=3#enl A 262! Yes! http://www.altaya.fr/ficha.php?id=101&pagina=4#enl These are some nice looking planes, from what I can tell. http://www.onmarkint.com/pages/fut_trucks.htm Last edited by Scotian; 03-26-2005 at 06:50 AM. |

I was on a weekend trip in Prague and had the chance to get a IXO P-51 Mustang for reasonable price (~18,- Euro).
The quality is inbetween Corgi and Post Stamp, i.e. the features like Corgi and the quality like Post Stamp. The metal casting of the body is well done, but the plastic parts are bit "simple". Also there is the problem of the former Corgis with the unstable gear when fixed into the model. Better to use the stand. Horizontal stabilizers made of plastic (similar to Corgi as well). Since the 1/72 Corgis were offered meanwhile for low rate on Ebay, the price for the IXOs should not exceed 15,- Euro to stay competitive. Anyway, I'm hot for the jet Models of ME262, ME163 and HE162! Chris Last edited by flieger; 01-02-2006 at 05:04 PM. |

In my message of yesterday I meant to specify Lavochkin la-5 as the 1:72 scale russian model I am seeking.
