Post Armour retailer

Hi Ed,

best prices/selection I've seen on the Armours (and good ones on Corgi too) is at diecasthobbies.com.

From your other post I see you're considering the Corgi 707. Make sure you see one in person first. I got the Air Force One model and it's a little disappointing (stub for vertical stabilizer antenna and #1 engine with turbocompressor when it shouldn't have it). Also the belly is painted flat silver when it would have been much nicer chromed. I'd expect the TWA, BA, etc. to have the same errors (beware the pictures you see, they are of the resin prototypes. The picture on the box of the AF1 is actually correct but not representative of what's inside).

Default Thx!

Dave,
Thx for the info!
I was aprehensive about the Corgi and after your biref comments I'm convinced I will not get it.
I'll probably end up selling the other Corgis I have only a couple of models in 1/144 and will eventually not be able to display them with any other models.
I picked up the Corgi Lancaster in 1/72 on ebay... I had seen this one in MIA show.. couldn't resist!
I saw on some sites that there are a couple of B-17;s in 1/72 from Corgi... any one out there have these?
I'm getting ready to take some pictures tonight of some recent models.. I'll post the link once I post them.
Thx again!
Saw the Armour B-25 that are coming...wow!I'm surprised they went with 1/48 on that model!
Any idea if Armour plans to release Mosquitoes?
These heavy metal models will be tough to display! To heavy for glass and solid shelves make lighting the models properly tough!
Decisions...decisions...

Default Aviaton World

Hey Eduardo!
Check out Aviation World in Toronto or Vancouver. www.aviationworld.net
They carry the entire line of Armour 1:100 and 1:48.
If only these models were fully printed and they had someone there who new about military planes like weapons placement and proper markings.
Cheers

Thx Colin.
I found a retailer in the US that fits the bill, lets see how it works out...so far so good.
Colin, I know these models are not perfect, but I'm very happy if all the Armour models(1/48) I have.
Combining my deteriorating eyesight and lack of time, I know I will NEVER make another model in my life.
These models though heavy, are good enough for me.
I just need to work on a generic modern and WWII base to use for some pictures.
I have a lot of 1/48 models that will go to ebay for sure!
I'll keep the retailers you mention, but prefer US retailers, where shipments are domestic. Sometimes it takes a while for me to convince them Puerto Rico is part of the US, but what else is new!!
Take care and thanks again,
Eduardo
